Fort d Acre Reserve is an exclusive thatched safari lodge situated at the mouth of the Great Fish River 25 km form Port Alfred. Its unique positioning, with sweeping views of bush and coastline, invites the visitor to explore contrasting habitats of grassland bush veld, wild seaside and riverine forest.
Game drives into the reserve offer opportunities to view 19 different species including Cape Buffalo and Giraffe. Our stylish lodge is elegantly furnished capturing the spirit of Africa. The en-suite bedrooms all have sweeping bush and ocean views. The indoor dining area offers cozy evenings in winter with roaring fires.
Relax around the pool set in the indigenous gardens. Alternatively spend a day at the beach lapa relaxing in the shade while the rhythm of the tide lulls you to sleep. Enjoy the company of wildlife, dolphins and whales.

The Upstairs Suite has a King size bed, en-suite bathroom (shower and bath), private lounge and balcony. Linen, bath towels and swimming towels are provided. Air conditioner in the room. Hairdryer available.
Downstairs rooms:
Two rooms with double beds and one room with 2 single beds. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms (shower only); linen, bath towels and swimming towels are provided. Air conditioner in the rooms.

Our game drives are exclusively available to guests; we can comfortably seat eight in the landrover. You have an excellent view of the wildlife from the vehicle and our guide will help spot the animals and get close while keeping you safe.
We have our own private beach access with a lovely well-covered deck area.
