Area Info:

Marloth Park is a unique wildlife conservancy located in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. It is situated on the southern border of the world-renowned Kruger National Park and covers an area of approximately 3,000 hectares (7,400 acres).

Here are some key features and information about Marloth Park:

Wildlife and Conservation: Marloth Park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including impalas, kudus, zebras, giraffes, warthogs, and numerous species of birds. The conservation of these animals and their natural habitat is a primary focus of the park.

Fenced Environment: One of the distinctive aspects of Marloth Park is that there are fences separating it from the Kruger National Park. This allows people and animals – that are not potentially dangerous – to roam freely, creating authentic and safe safari experiences that are family friendly.

Accommodation: The park offers a range of accommodation options, including private lodges, guesthouses, and self-catering units. Many of these establishments are located along the banks of the Crocodile River, offering stunning views of the river and the wildlife that frequent its banks.

Activities: Visitors to Marloth Park can engage in various activities to immerse themselves in the natural surroundings. These activities include game drives, guided bush walks, bird watching, and cycling.

Facilities and Services: The park provides essential facilities such as shops, restaurants, and a petrol station to cater to the needs of residents and visitors. There are also local tour operators and safari guides who offer their services for guided experiences in the area.

Birdwatching: Marloth Park is particularly renowned as a birding destination, with over 300 species of birds recorded in the area. Birdwatchers can spot an array of colorful and diverse birdlife, making it a paradise for bird enthusiasts.

Proximity to Kruger National Park: Marloth Park’s location next to the Kruger National Park allows visitors to easily access the world-famous game reserve. They can take day trips to the Kruger Park and enjoy its abundant wildlife and iconic African landscapes.

It’s important to note that Marloth Park is a residential area as well, with many people owning holiday homes or permanent residences within the conservancy. This means that visitors should respect the privacy and rules of the local residents while enjoying their stay.
