African Rock Lodge is situated on the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate; approx. Half an hour drive from the Krugerpark.

Upon arrival at African Rock Lodge; an exclusive lodge completely built in African style; you will experience a series of sensory revelations.

As in nature everything at African Rock Lodge exists in harmony to blend into the bush and you are immediately aware of a feeling of calm and renovating spirit.

You will stay in an luxurious suite with private patio, awake to the calls of the birds and enjoy a scrumptious breakfast on our outside patio, an en-suite bathroom with everything you can dream of, internet access, and thorough cleanliness all that one would expect of a five star bush lodge.

Have a drink in the lapa (entertainment area) or our bar, take a plunge in our sparking pool, dine in the open dining room or in our boma (open air barbecue) and enjoy great walks to discover the surrounding nature.

All four or our stunning and luxurious bush rooms have WiFi internet access, private safe, twin or king size beds, air conditioner, mosquito nets, minibar, private patio, en-suite bathroom with double shower (normal and rain shower), two washbasins, toilet and bath.

Full toiletries and towels are supplied.

Activities:

Game viewing, hiking, horse back safaris, swimming and sun bathing at the premise.

We do tours to the Kruger National Park (Krugerpark), Panorama / Scenic Route, Maholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, Khamai Reptile Park, Jessica the Famous Hippo, Hoedspruit Endangered Species, Cheetah Project, and anything you want to do. Please enquire.

Health and Climate:

Hoedspruit is a low-risk malaria area. In summer, precautions should be taken.

Directions:

From Johannesburg:
From the airport follow N1/N3 towards Johannesburg and then at exit 113 take N4/N12 towards Witbank and Middelburg towards Nelspruit (Mbombela).
After Middelburg, turn left on the R540 towards Belfast /Dullstroom (left at off ramp)
In centre of town turn right (towards Dullstroom/Lydenburg) then through Dullstroom and then on to Lydenburg (Mashishing). Pass through Lydenburg taking the R36 to Ohrigstad (Tubatse), through the Abel ErasmusTunnel to Hoedspruit (Maruleng).
In Hoedspruit, once crossing over a bridge over the railway line, the road stops at a four-way crossing. Turn right onto the R40 towards Klaserie / Bushbuck Ridge.
Then take the first road to the left (pass the shopping centre on your right hand side) and continue towards the entrance of the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. Please report yourselves to the security guards at the entrance, where you will be handed over an entrance permit.
After the entrance keep left and follow this road (Rotsvy)
Keep on following Rotsvy until 7th road on your right, which is Ghwarrie.
Turn right into Ghwarrie.
Just before the second road on your left is 594, African Rock Lodge.
