Accommodation at AmaSun B&B:
There are 5 rooms to choose from. Four of the rooms are north facing and spacious. The 4th room is smaller, but equipped with a mini kitchen and opens onto a private courtyard with braai facility.
All rooms include Down duvets / Percale bedding / towels; Electric blankets; Mattress upper; Guest toiletries; DStv; Hotel Bouquet; DVD player and DVDs to watch; WIFI; Hair dryer; Iron and ironing board; Ceiling fans / heater; Microwave; Tea/coffee facilities; and a Small fridge.
Room 1
A self catering studio which is ideal for a couple or a single guest. It has a very comfortable, beautiful old brass double bed, en-suite bathroom with shower, private entrance, undercover sundeck with table and chairs and mobile braai.
Room 2
This is a north facing room which looks out onto the garden. It has 2 three-quarter beds in which can be made into a super king if required. There is a spacious en-suite bathroom with bath and shower.
Room 3
This bedroom is also north facing and is adjacent to room 2 and is ideal for a family due to its own private dining area which leads out onto the sundeck. There are 2 antique three-quarter beds that can also become a super king bed if the need arises. The en-suite bathroom has a shower.
Room 4
This very spacious bedroom is also north facing and looks out onto the garden and the Outeniqua mountains. There is a dressing area and the spacious en-suite bathroom has a bath and a shower. This room has a beautiful old brass double bed that comes from the Kimberley diamond fields (what stories it could tell!). While enjoying a scrumptious breakfast, guests generally comment on what a heavenly sleep they had. There is also a single brass bed in the room that makes it ideal for a family or friends to share. How nice it is to be able to relax in the 2 very comfortable armchairs while watching television or a DVD after a tiring day. A table and chair are also there for your convenience. Sliding doors lead out onto the sundeck, braai area and patio where a gurgling fountain creates a refreshing ambiance.
Room 5
This bedroom with private entrance has two single beds that can be made up into a king sized bed as well as a single bed. It is, therefore, ideal for a family. The en-suite bathroom has a shower and bath.
George is a small city with a country feel to it. We are surrounded by: fantastic beaches, golf courses, forests and mountain hikes.
From the N2:
- Turn off at the Garden Route Mall and continue along this road [Courtenay street] till the Train Museum.
- At the robot, just before crossing the bridge, turn right into First street. [You will see our board].
- The third road up is Stander street and here you turn right and we are on the corner of Rose and Stander. [Opposite van Kervel school].
