Anchor`s Rest Guest House in Umhlanga Rocks is the place to head for if your idea of heaven is a sub-tropical climate, sun-drenched beaches and golden sunsets.
Anchor`s Rest is just a 15 minute drive from the bustling port city of Durban, the International Conference Centre and Ushaka Marine World and a 15 minute drive from King Shaka International Airport. It is just a short walk to numerous restaurants, shops, vibrant night life and the golden beaches of Umhlanga.
After a busy day you can relax in tranquil surroundings, enjoying a cocktail at the guests` bar, or unwind around the sparkling swimming pool and enjoy the balmy, tropical air. In the evening, bar-b-que under the stars, dine al fresco in the gardens, or stroll into Umhlanga to enjoy a variety of cuisine.
There is a spacious guest`s lounge with a well-stocked bar (drinks are for guest`s own account) and large screen television which leads onto a sea facing patio with barbecue facilities.
A solar heated swimming pool is provided for greater swimming comfort throughout the year.

Guests can choose either the bed and breakfast option or the self-catering option as we have three large, luxury rooms which have well equipped kitchenettes which allows for self-catering with ease.
We offer guests a daily laundry service from Monday to Saturday at an additional cost. Anchor`s Rest has excellent security. Leave your vehicle in our secure car park.
Free wi-fi is available to guests and airport transfers can be arranged at competitive rates. Car rental can also be arranged with delivery to and from Anchor`s Rest.
Accommodation at Anchor`s Rest Guest House:
Each luxury room has a private entrance and patio with barbeque facilities and an open plan bedroom and lounge area with a well-equipped kitchenette which allows for self-catering with ease.
All guest rooms have air-conditioning with cooling and heating facilities, plus ceiling fans, en-suite bathrooms, with shower and bath, personal DSTV decoders, tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, personal safe and hairdryer.
Each luxury room has a private lounge that leads onto a secluded patio, lush tropical gardens or a sea facing pool deck.
Yellowwood Room
Large, luxuriously appointed garden suite which sleeps two adults in either a king size bed, or two single beds. A third adult can be accommodated on a sleeper couch in the lounge area. The Yellowwood room is often referred to as the Honeymoon Suite as it is private and spacious.
Cheetah Room
Large, beautifully appointed garden suite which sleeps two adults in either a king size bed, or two single beds. A third adult can be accommodated on a sleeper couch in the lounge area. This suite has a large corner bath and shower, which is ideal for a long, luxurious soak. There is a private covered patio, which is ideal for outdoor living and it is situated in the garden away from other guest rooms.
The Coral Room
The Coral room overlooks the sparkling swimming pool and offers guests a large en suite bathroom. The en suite bathroom has a separate shower and bath where you can soak off the cares of the day, or refresh yourself after a day of sun bathing or sight-seeing. There is a queen size bed with crisp cotton percale which ensures a luxurious, good nights sleep. The veranda off the Coral room is ideal for relaxing or enjoying a sun downer while gazing out to sea, or watching a glorious, semi tropical sunset.
The Aloe Room
The Aloe room also overlooks the sparkling swimming pool and has a large, modern en suite shower. There is a double size bed, again with crisp cotton percale which entices you to relax and unwind for a restful nights sleep. The veranda off the Aloe room has the same peaceful outlook as the Coral room.
Strelitzia Room
A large, luxuriously appointed suite overlooking the pool and tropical garden. This suite has a large, private patio with an electric sun awning, which is ideal for protection from the hot midday sun. This suite accommodates two people in either a king size bed, or two single beds, with a large en suite bathroom with separate shower and bath.
Please note: We cannot accommodate children under the age of 10 years.

Nearby sporting facilities include golf, tennis, squash, health clubs, scuba diving and snorkeling, deep sea and rock/beach fishing, surfing, horse riding, micro light and helicopter flights, quad biking, skate boarding and ten pin bowling are all available within a short distance of Anchor's Rest.

Cancellation Policy:
A 50% deposit is required to confirm a booking within 48 hours of booking date.
Deposits are not refundable in the event of a cancellation, or non arrival.
We will seek compensation for any cancelled accommodation that cannot be relet, including premature curtailment.
The Terms and Conditions of this booking are deemed as being accepted on receipt of the deposit, or credit card details.
Directions:
Travelling on the N2 take the off-ramp sign-posted Umhlanga Rocks / Mount Edgecombe.
Take the 2nd turn-off, which is marked Umhlanga Rocks Drive.
You will go past a McDonalds, a Shell garage and the Umhlanga Rocks Hospital on your left-hand side.
You will reach a traffic circle.
Take the 3rd turn-off on the circle, which is the continuation of Umhlanga Rocks Drive
At the 3rd set of traffic lights, turn right into Ridge Road.
At the end of this block, there is a stop street with the Umhlanga Veterinary clinic diagonally opposite you. Turn right into Stanley Grace Crescent.
Anchor's Rest is the 4th house on the left hand side, number 14.
