Nestled in south of Babanango Game Reserve, Valley Lodge offers a serene escape in nature. Its nine adjoining luxury rooms provide splendid views of indigenous gardens designed by horticulturalist Chris Dalzell. With a maximum capacity of 18 guests, the farm style lodge ensures a cozy experience. Unlike others, it is fenced off for safety, privacy, and exclusivity. Guests can enjoy panoramic views from infinity and splash pools or relax by the fireplace. The library offers books on local history and bird species. In the evening, the outdoor boma with a firepit creates a cozy atmosphere. The lodge’s culinary experience includes canape-style lunches, handcrafted cocktails, and traditional South African-style potjiekos and braais.

Valley Lodge offers guests accommodation in farm-styled rooms overlooking the picturesque Nsubeni River Valley with glistening granite koppies, sandstone cliffs and quartzite ridges stretching into the far distance where the White Umfolozi River flows. Visitors to Valley Lodge can enjoy the abundance of wildlife in the surrounding Babanango Game Reserve, which boasts 19,895 hectares of pristine wilderness waiting to be explored by conservation and nature enthusiasts. This rich area harbours abundant game species including Cheetah, Leopard, Brown Hyena, Jackal, Buffalo, Hippo, Rhino, Giraffe, Zebra, Eland, Red Hartebeest, Kudu, Nyala, Mountain Reedbuck, and the elusive Aardvark and Aardwolf. Lion and Elephant will be introduced by late 2022.

Besides being home to an abundant species of game, our reserve is also home to 32 species of butterflies and 311 species of birds, including the rare Pel’s Fishing Owl and Narina Trogon. The Reserve is also home to Black Eagles, Lappet-Faced and White-Backed Vultures, Crowned Eagles and nine breeding pairs of Blue Cranes.
Guided nature drives are available from the lodge twice a day. Coming soon, guests can experience our Cultural Tours to the nearby battlefield of Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift.

In-room Facilities: Babanango Valley Lodge sleeps 22 people in 9 luxurious suites. The Honeymoon Suite is set slightly apart from the rest of the lodge for extra privacy.
Each luxury air-conditioned room includes Wifi, tea and coffee-making facilities, along with sweeping views of the beautiful reserve. The lodge offers delicious meals from the on-site restaurant, with room service for those times when staying in your gown and relaxing is the only option.
Located closest to the lodge and pool area, the two deluxe rooms provide a convenient and accessible option.
Designed with families in mind, the two family rooms at Valley Lodge are more spacious and include a sleeper couch suitable for two children under the age of 12. These rooms are set away from the other accommodations and the pool area, providing a quieter environment for families to relax and unwind.

The romance rooms at Valley Lodge are specifically tailored for couples looking to create a romantic getaway. These rooms feature a private balcony, a cozy day bed, and a private boma, allowing couples to enjoy their own secluded space and create memorable moments together.
- All deposits must be paid within 48 hours of making a reservation
- Full and final settlement of reservation must be paid no later than 30 days prior to arrival
- Any reservation made 30 days or less prior to arrival will require full settlement within 24 hours of making a reservation.
PAYMENT POLICY
• All reservations require a 50% deposit to secure booking date/s
• All deposits must be paid within 72 hours of making a reservation - failure to receive funds in the stipulated time will result in cancellation of your reservation
• Full and final settlement of a reservation must be made no later than 14 days before arrival
• Any reservations made 30-days or less before arrival will require full settlement within 24 hours of making a reservation
• Payments can be made via bank transfer / electronic funds transfer (eft), online with your VISA debit card, VISA credit card or Mastercard through our online payment portal, which is hosted by PayGate or Cash deposits, however, be aware that cash deposits will attract a fee of 3% of the amount payable.
