Explore Knysna and the Garden Route the Big Tree House:
The Knysna lagoon is famous for its beauty and wide variety of water-based activities to enjoy. Why not enjoy some water skiing, scuba diving, snorkelling or fishing? Or if you feel less active, encounter the wildlife of our lagoon and the Indian Ocean beyond the Knysna Heads on a boat based whale watching excursion, ora sunset champagne cruise aboard a luxury catamaran or yacht. Our pristine beaches offer miles of unspoilt, golden sands to explore, as well as some of the best surfing on the southern coast. And if youre feeling adventurous, why not sign up for kite surfing or stand up paddling lessons while youre here? Or try your hand at paragliding in nearby Sedgefield, known as the paragliders Mecca.
Knysnas indigenous forest is ideal for family picnics, invigorating hikes or challenging single track mountain biking. The area is a bird watchers paradise and wild animals do still roam the forest, so be on the lookout for leopards, baboons, monkeys and, of course, the elusive Knysna elephants
If you dont meet an elephant in our forest, then take a short drive to visit these gentle giants at either the Knysna Elephant Park or the Elephant Sanctuary. Visit long lost relatives and other primates at Monkeyland, stand in awe of the big cats at the Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary, and spot those birds you missed in the forest at Birds of Eden.
Also an easy day drive away are the amazing Cango Caves and Cango Wildlife Ranch in Oudtshoorn, as well as the other Garden Route towns of Mossel Bay, George, Wilderness and Tsitsikamma.
With five courses of its own, and in close proximity of the best courses on the Garden Route, Knysna is your ideal golfing destination.
