Blue Gum Country Estate is a rustic country lodge hidden in the valley that ascends towards the small town of Stanford, just outside Hermanus. The estate is a working wine farm and developing vineyard.

The delightful estate, nestled among ancient Blue Gum trees, overlooks the leafy banks of the Klein Rivier and encourages guests to relax in tranquil beauty and endless luxury.
Accommodation:
The luxurious Manor House Rooms are decorated in the Colonial-African style with a mixture of rich earthy colours and crisp whites.
Each room has its own private veranda with sprawling views of the vineyards and surrounding valley. There are a number of magnificent accommodation options available at Blue Gum.
The Mountain View Rooms are decorated in an English country style combining soft colours, comfortable furniture and beautiful wooden floors.
Each room has a private veranda facing the majestic Overberg mountains. Delightful interleading family room options are available for those with children.
Blue Gum provides guests with an abundance of activities to enjoy on the grounds. A newly developed pool area provides the perfect place for relaxing and overlooking the vineyards and pastures of the estate.
Hiking, mountain bike riding, quad-biking, croquet on the lawns and boule are always a favourite for the more energetic. An extensive library and various board games are available for a lazy afternoon’s entertainment.
Additionally, guests can experience a feast of flora and fauna on and around the estate. 100 species of bird life have been spotted and numerous paths have been created that meander through the sunlit valley and majestic vineyards. Personalised tours with experienced guides can be organised.

Blue Gum’s budget accommodation. Decorated in the Afro-Colonial style. Each cottage has its own private verandah and garden, with only a shower in the bathroom. King size bed or set of Twins.

- If cancelling 30 days before arrival, forfeit 25% of the booking total.

Blue Gum Country Estate is located 7 km off the R326 that runs between Stanford and Riviersonderend.
From the garden route & N2
If travelling from the Garden Route along the N2 the R326 turn off (on your left) and sign posted to Stanford, is about 10kms after you pass through the town of Riviersonderend. The distance from when you turn off the N2 onto the R326 after Riviersonderend is about 55km
From Cape Town & Hermanus (app. 2 hours from Cape Town)
If travelling from Cape Town via Hermanus, take the Hermanus turn off from the N2 (just after Houw Hoek Pass), proceed through Hermanus, following the signs to Stanford/Gansbaai, as you approach the town of Stanford there is a two way intersection, turn left (onto the R326) past the Birkenhead Brewery and proceed for 5km, at which point you will see our turn off, follow our signs on the gravel road (same turning as cheese factory) next to White Water Lodge.
From Caledon
If you wish to bypass Hermanus and travel through Caledon to Blue Gum then proceed along the N2 to Caledon, follow the signs that say Bredasdorp/Napier.
Approximately 29km outside of Caledon in the direction of Bredasdorp Napier you will intersect the R326 route from the N2/Riviersonderend (as details in second paragraph above).
This intersection will be signposted left to Riviersonderend and right to Stanford, turn right and follow the R326 for 10km to the Blue Gum turn off which will be on your right. (on same gravel road as cheese factory)
