Branksome Country House is situated on Branksome farm, a working farm in the Southern Drakensberg. This guest house is family owned and run by the Vosloo family, who have farmed in the area for many years.
This is the perfect place to visit if you are seeking relaxation and an escape from the pressures of city life. We are located in a remote valley, far removed from civilization, and right in the midst of nature. A tranquil and serene setting to unwind and destress.
We have a restaurant on the premises, to satisfy all your desires and cravings. We also offer plenty of unique activities to make your stay exciting and memorable.
We welcome children of all ages and believe this in an ideal destination for a family getaway.
Restaurant:
At Branksome Country House Restaurant we offer a seasonal menu which changes frequently according to what we have access to. We try to keep our ingredients as local as possible, and use as many fresh garden herbs and homegrown vegetables as we can from our garden.
We serve delicious Birkhall Grass-fed Meats, which are sourced from our neighbouring farm. Most of our sausages, cured meats, biltong and dry wors are prepared by Basie Vosloo, a local butchery expert.
All meals are cleverly thought up and lovingly prepared by Rene Vosloo, our Head Chef, who has a deep love of food and is passionate about cooking and preparing meals which delight her guests.
Accommodation at Branksome Country House:
All our rooms are mountain facing, offering you the best views of the ‘Dragon’s Tail’. Our rooms have been designed with our surrounds in mind, and we have tried to bring the theme of nature through in the building and renovations.
Each room has been named and themed after a significant part of our family history, and is decorated accordingly. In order for our guests to really escape and appreciate the serene and peaceful surrounds, all our rooms are television-free. We encourage our guests to escape from technology and reconnect with nature and their loved ones.
All our rooms have the same amenities and facilities, and differ only in decor and theme.
