Tulbagh Country Guest House is the jewel in the Cape Dutch Quarters crown. Old world charm and contemporary expectations blend in this unique house that was built in 1809. Surrounded your self with antiques and original artworks and enjoy our three-course breakfast (optional) thats served on antique crockery.
The Tulbagh Country Guest House offers four superior three king and queen size luxury en-suite rooms and suites as well as a small en-suite single room. Enjoy the opulence of our superior inside rooms and the decadence of their king size beds and furnishings.
Our garden suites can sleep three guests or accommodate twin occupancy in a queen and three-quarter bed. The garden suites open up onto a lovely courtyard garden and guests are encouraged to make free use of the pool and all guesthouse facilities including the covered terrace braai/barbecue area. All rooms have a private bathroom with shower and private toilet, while two of the bathrooms also have baths. Please inquire at reception for room specifics.
Luxury Self Catering Cottages at Cape Dutch Quarters:
In addition to the main superior Tulbagh Country Guest House, Cape Dutch Quarters offer a variety of unique luxury self catering units, cottages and houses. Stay like a king on Tulbaghs historic Church Street in one of a variety of converted outbuildings that includes wagon sheds, heavenly lofts and a coachmans cottage.
To emphasize their original and restored features, our cottages are furnished with period furniture, Persian carpets and beautiful artworks throughout. All cottages feature queen size beds, larger units also have single bed(s). A goods night rest is assured with hygienic memory foam mattresses and white cotton percale linen.
All our self catering rooms have private bathroom with shower, while some of the cottages also have baths. Please inquire at reception for room specifics. Kitchenettes are fitted with all the modern essentials and cooking utensils for basic self catering. This includes fridge, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster. All units have heaters, fans and electric blankets. Most have air conditioning as well.
Cottages all have a comfortable sitting and eating area and well as private outside/courtyard living space. Guests are encouraged to make free use of the pool and guesthouse facilities including the covered terrace braai / barbeque area.
An optional breakfast is available to all our self catering guests, a treat served in the main house on antique crockery and silver cutlery.

Driving from Cape Town (130km):
- Take the N1 towards Paarl for half an hour Exit left at Exit for Klapmuts/Wellington R44 (before Paarl).
- Turn left at the T junction and continue 15 minutes to Wellington On entering Wellington, turn left at the traffic lights (with the R44).
- The sign reads 'Distillery Road-Hermon/Ceres' Continue for 30 minutes and through the Nuwekloof pass Continue 5 minutes through the pass and then follow the Tulbagh signs left into town At the T junction turn left into Tulbagh Main Road/Van Der Stel Road.
- The Cape Dutch Quarter-Tulbagh Travellers Inn (#77 Van Der Stel Road) in is on the left after 300m.
- The Cape Dutch Quarter-Country Manor, Little Courtyards & Wagon Shed are all located in Church Street, so turn left just before the Travellers Inn and immediately right into Church street.
- The Quarters reception is at #24, Tulbagh Country Manor Guest House, half way down Church Street on the right. Parking on street.
