If you are looking for Umhlanga Accommodation, Crooked Tree Cottage is a lovely Bed and Breakfast/Self Catering accommodation establishment set in the heart of Umhlanga Durban, Kwazulu Natal, a premier holiday accommodation/tourist hot spot in South Africa. It is a stones throw from Umhlanga Village with its gorgeous beaches. Oceans Mall is 1 km away, Gateway Theatre of shopping is a 2 min drive away and Durban CBD and ICC are about 15 minutes drive. Umhlanga New Town Centre and the La Lucia Ridge/Ridgeside office parks are on our doorstep. It is close to both the M4 and the N2 highways making access to Durban and the rest of KZN extremely efficient. This makes it an ideal accommodation venue for both Holidaymakers and Business people alike.
Crooked Tree Cottage is aptly named for the indigenous trees in the garden. These trees are ideal for the humid subtropical climate of coastal Kwazulu Natal as they provide a restful cooling shade on our hot sunny summer days and lose their leaves in the winter making the view even more spectacular. The sea views from the balconies are magnificent and the bird life is amazing to watch. Vervet monkeys are almost daily visitors and the occasional Woolly Necked Storks can be spotted in the branches of the trees.
Accommodation at Crooked Tree Cottage:
The accommodation consists of a 3-roomed cottage and a Studio suite, both of which are let as B&B accommodation most of the year. They are both, however, ideally suited for those of you who prefer to holiday on a self-catering basis. The cottage can accommodate 6 to 7 guests and three studio unit can accommodate 1 to 2 guests.
Breakfasts:
An add on Full English or Omelette is on offer. The food has been sourced from the best suppliers to ensure only the best quality of breakfasts. Fruit salads or platters are served with all breakfasts. Wake up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee every morning.
The 3 room Cottage is tastefully decorated and has a well-equipped kitchen and a spacious dining and lounge area opening onto a sea-facing balcony. There is a deck area with seating at the entrance to the cottage where you can enjoy a sundowner.

GUESTS
All guests enter the property at their own risk.
The
owner and staff cannot be held responsible for any injury, loss or damage to
any person or person’s property caused by accident, fire or any other cause
whatsoever.
No persons under the age of 21 allowed without accompaniment of a parent or chaperone UNLESS BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT.

Extra guests you will be charged if they can be accommodated, or you will be assisted in finding alternative accommodation for the extra guest/s at your cost.
Only registered guests are permitted to make use of, or share, the bedrooms, lounge, dining area, or swimming pool area. Guest visitors may be permitted but only by prior arrangement with Crooked Tree management - these visitors may incur charges.
No loud music or parties etc. after 9pm.
PAYMENTS
Please note that all prices quoted are subject to availability & can change without prior notice.
All bookings will only be confirmed once proof of deposit has been received.
In the case of a corporate booking, bookings will be considered confirmed when the client/pa/ta has indicated the intention of making payment by requesting an invoice or when supplying a travel voucher.
The Terms and Conditions of a booking are deemed as being accepted
on receipt of the deposit or when the client/pa/ta has indicated the
intention of making payment by requesting an invoice or when supplying a travel
voucher.
A
deposit of 50% of the total accommodation cost is to be paid within 24 hours of
booking unless otherwise stated on your booking notice/invoice.
In the case of bookings made 7 days or less prior to arrival, deposits will be requested on the same day of booking.
CANCELLATION POLICIES
Bookings will be cancelled if the deposit is not received by the due date.
Low season - deposits are mostly refundable in
the event of cancellation 8 days or more prior to a booking.
Low season - Cancellations from 7 - 0 days’ and less prior to a booking, or “no shows” forfeit 100% of the cost of the booking.
High season/Long weekends (public holiday weekends)
Any cancellations prior to these bookings forfeit 50% of the total cost of the booking.
Cancellation from 30 days’ and less prior to these booking forfeit 100% of the cost of the booking.
Inquire directly with the establishment to determine high and low seasons.
If a confirmed booking is cancelled, the booking payment may be refundable only if the accommodation can be re-let. This is at the discretion of Crooked Tree management.
Any refunds will incur service charges of up to 50% of the
total cost of the booking.
Crooked Tree reserves the right to not refund card fees (transaction costs) in the case of any cancellation or situation where funds need to be reversed back to a credit card.
Any balance of payment is to be made before or on arrival. Keys will not be handed over unless the balance is paid in full.
Insurance: To
avoid any misunderstanding, a booking constitutes a binding contract. All guests confirming a booking are advised
to take out insurance to cover the full cost of their accommodation in the
event of a cancellation for any foreseeable and unforeseen events. Crooked Tree
will seek compensation for any cancelled accommodation that cannot be relet,
including premature curtailment.
The account remains the responsibility of the guest until full payment is received.
CHECKIN/OUT TIMES
Check in time is from 2pm onwards. Early check in can be arranged if at all possible.
Latest checl in is 10pm.
Check out time is 10am on the day of departure.
Please note: There will be a R200 levy charged for every hour after 10am for late departures. A full day’s rate will be charged for check outs after 12 noon.
PARKING
Parking is at your own risk. Only ONE CAR PER SUITE is allowed to park inside the premises. Please enquire if you should need extra vehicle or trailer parking.
Although there is ample safe off-street parking, guests are advised not to leave any belongings in their vehicles.
