At De Bos Guest Farm, we offer a variety of family friendly, self-catering accommodation options. We have shaded camping, a backpackers barn, three private en suite rooms, as well as a garden cottage and four fully equipped bungalows. Everyone has access to the large swimming pool and kids playground.
Our 5 hectare farm is in the heart of the Klein Karoo town of Montagu, Route 62, Western Cape, South Africa. We are also a working pecan nut farm. Peacocks, guinea fowl, leopard tortoises and angulate tortoises roam the farm. Horses, sheep, ponies and Nana the Donkey live in the paddocks. Many different birds can be seen along the river.
De Bos is a favourite accommodation option for rock climbers, hikers and mountain bikers visiting Montagu. We are less than 5 km drive from the famous Montagu Hot Springs and within walking distance of the center of town with it`s historical museum, coffee shops, craft markets and stylish restaurants. Route 62 also is famous for it`s wine and olive tasting.
Accommodation at De Bos Guest Farm:
We have a whole choice of rooms, ranging from camping to a Backpackers Barn to Courtyard Rooms with a shared kitchen, to Bungalows with their own kitchen and bathroom.
The Barn sleeps 17 and can be used by singles or groups. It has it`s own kitchen (fully, basically equipped) and a braai area outside.
The Courtyard rooms have en suite bathrooms (shower only) and a communal kitchen. They are supplied with towels. The Bungalows, of which there are 4, sleep 6 each. Bungalows 1 and 2 are bigger and more spacious therefore cost a little more, but they both have a fully, basically equipped kitchen and an outside braai and a small fireplace inside for the cold winter evenings. You must bring your own towels.
We are a Pecan nut farm and we also have some horses, donkeys and sheep. They are all people friendly but the horses are not for riding. Montagu is famous for climbing and most climbs can be reached from De Bos on foot. The town is also only about 300 m away where there is a local market every Saturday morning.
