Formerly the Gariep Hotel, de Stijl Gariep Hotel is now the Upper Karoo’s most stylish hotel, offering 43 chic, contemporary, extremely comfortable rooms with accommodation for up to 130 guests. The hotel overlooks the Gariep Dam, giving breathtaking big sky views.

Our 43 newly refurbished rooms offer the ultimate luxury of space, indulgent premium percale linen, oversize fluffy towels and other delights to make your stay a memorable one.
Most of our rooms have two queen beds, selective satellite TV, air-conditioning, a dresser and a writing desk and lockable cupboards. Personal bathroom items are replenished daily. Thirty three of our rooms overlook the Gariep Dam, giving awesome sunset and sunrise views, ideal for a cocktail on your balcony.

Here at De Stijl we are proudly Karoo. We use Karoo produce where possible - organic, fresh and local is what we believe in. This belief is what makes our food unique and as tasty and as special as it is. Our chefs are passionate about the area and are always on the look out for new ideas and ingredients, so relax, join us on a journey through the Karoo and the best it has to offer.
We are also proud to announce that we have started vegetable gardens nearby to provide the hotel with fresh seasonal produce and flowers, without the air and road miles, delivered fresh each day!

Located on the shores of the largest inland water mass in South Africa makes de Stijl a great spot for both water sports and adventure. The greater Lake Gariep region has an abundance of culture and recent history relating to the Great Trek and Anglo Boer War. There are several significant sites in the area including Colesberg, Bethulie and Norval’s Point.
