Ditholo Wildlife Estate’s Lodges is the perfect bush getaway only 230km from Johannesburg.
With the Waterberg Mountains as the backdrop, Ditholo Wildlife Estate offers vast open plains and waterways teeming with a variety of wildlife.
The Estate covers 1000 hectares of lush scrub veld, woodland and plains with an impressive selection of endemic trees and flora.
There are excellent quality dirt roads that allow easy access to all parts of the Estate, however due to the policy of non-intrusion only electric golf carts and registered green game viewer vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists are allowed to freely explore the Estate.
The only motorised vehicle in use is for Guided Game Drives and the routes are carefully chosen to give guests the best possible experience without putting too much pressure or interfering with the animals and their natural behaviour.
The Estate is Malaria free.
Duiker Lodge:
Accommodation at Duiker Lodge is provided in 3 bedrooms. The first bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed. The second bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed and 2 single beds in the loft space. The third bedroom is a loft area furnished with 3 single beds. The first and second bedrooms have each an en-suite bathroom with a shower and a bath as well as sliding doors leading out onto a wooden deck.
The lodge comprises an open-plan lounge, dining, and kitchen. The lounge area has a large L-shape couch. The dining area has an 8-seater dining room table and a built-in braai. The living area leads out onto a wooden deck area with an attached swimming pool and boma area. The reserve offers various hiking trails, cycling routes, and game viewing trails, there is also a restaurant, bar, and spa.
Kudu Lodge:
Accommodation at Kudu Lodge comprises 4 separate rooms each with its own private entrance, wooden deck area, and en-suite bathroom. There are 2 rooms furnished with king-size beds and 2 furnished with twin beds. These luxury rooms share a communal lapa with an open-plan lounge, dining, and kitchen. The lounge area has a large L-shape leather couch. The dining area has an 8-seater dining room table and a built-in braai. The living area leads out onto a wooden deck area with an attached swimming pool and boma area. There are game drive vehicles available for game drives.
What you should bring with:
- All your food (for self-catering, with full board you don’t need to bring any food)
- All beverages, including alcoholic beverages (at the Golf clubhouse and restaurant you can enjoy refreshments)
- Clothes warm and cold. Bring a jacket for the evenings around the boma fire

Health
The Waterberg District is a malaria free district, no need for any malaria medication. The farm is about 22km from the nearest town, Bela Bela, should you need any medical attention.
Climate
Summer seasons can be very hot, make sure to bring sunscreen
In winter we mostly have lovely hot days, the evenings and mornings can be very chilly though, therefore, down forget a warm jacket
Autumn and Spring are the best seasons to visit our farm. The days are lovely, warm and sunny with occasional seasonal thunderstorms in the afternoon. The evenings and mornings are a little bit chilly but not too much. A light jacket will do the trick.
There are 4 bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms. The 4th room is a loft room also with an en-suite bathroom. The house has a private pool and games area.
