In George itself are plenty activities on offer from a visit to the George Museum, the Botanical Garden with the unique Cape Floral Kingdom, and the Outeniqua Farmers Market on a Saturday.

The Highlights are the Strawberry Festival integrated in the George Heritage Festival in September and the Old Car Show at the second weekend in February.
George is also well known for sporting activities such as the OCC (the Outeniqua (wheel) Chair Challenge, an international recognized race, Rugby, hockey and netball events on provincial and national level that attract many visitors.
Accommodation at George Backpackers: The backpackers comprises of five rooms, one dormitory with 4 bunk beds for 8 guests, two dormitories with 2 bunk beds for 4 guests each as well as two private rooms with two single beds each.
For stays longer than 1 night a king size bed can be made up. There are two separate bathrooms, both with toilet, one with shower the other one with a bath. A Tv room with selected DSTV programs, as well as a communal kitchen, outdoor covered braai area and an outdoor toilet, are completing the offers for our guests.
