Grünau Chalets offers a perfect stop-over for tourists travelling between Namibia and South Africa. After a long drive, you can take a refreshing shower, light a campfire and sip on a cold drink while experiencing the beautiful Namibian sunset.
Guests have a choice of comfortably furnished, open-plan rooms that can sleep 2 to 6 people and well-designed campsites with private ablution facilities, power point, braai and wash-up area. The air-conditioned rooms are furnished with comfortable beds and have en-suite bathrooms with baths and showers or showers only. Each room has a fully equipped kitchenette that is equipped with a fridge, microwave, stove and tea and coffee-making facilities. A TV and Wi-Fi access are available.
Guests have use of private braai areas and the rooms open onto a small patio with outdoor seating.
Grünau Chalets are conveniently situated next to the Shell fuel station on the Southern B1 highway. Besides its easy accessibility, Grünau Chalets also offer comprehensive security, being surrounded by an electric fence with a supervisor on duty to receive guests on a 24-hour basis. The South of Namibia is generally dry with wide open spaces, straight, long roads and spectacular sunsets. Grünau is a tiny town situated in the southern region of Namibia, 140 km north of Noordoewer, the southern border post to South Africa. Grünau is an ideal base station from which to explore, or a perfect overnight facility on your way to the Fish River Canyon or the Sossusvlei Dunes. The Quiver Tree Forest and Giant’s Playground is situated en route to Windhoek, just past Keetmanshoop and is well worth a visit. Stop over at the Gibeon War Graves a few kilometers further north of Keetmanshoop. The British Station Cemetery contains a plot with the graves of 33 Commonwealth South African soldiers who fell in the Battle of Gibeon.
