Highlands Lodge is a Mountain Retreat situated in the heart of the Outeniqua Mountains. Surrounded by Fynbos hills and mountain streams carving their way to the valley below, nature’s beauty and purity are embraced rather than leaving our human footprint.
Our log cabins are free-standing, spacious, and have a private entrance with wooden decks overlooking the natural scenic surroundings of the Outeniqua Mountains. Some cabins are semi-attached and can accommodate a family of 12 if rented together - each with its own entrance.

We are situated 25 km from the closest airport, and 18 km from the world-famous Fancourt Golf Estate. The closest beach, which is Herold’s Bay, is about a 15-minute drive. The Cango Caves in Oudtshoorn, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is 45 km. The historic Montague Pass is only 7 km away.

- If cancelling 7 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the booking total.
- If cancelling 13 days before arrival, forfeit 75% of the booking total.
- If cancelling 20 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the booking total.
- If cancelling 29 days before arrival, forfeit 25% of the booking total.
- If cancelling 999 days before arrival, forfeit 10% of the booking total.
* The cardholder & ID/Passport must be present at check-in.
* The credit card used for the online payment must be present at check-in.
A 60% deposit is required to secure a booking.
The balance of the booking is to be paid 7 days prior to arrival.
If a booking is made in less than 7 days prior to arrival, a 100% payment is required.
No refunds are given during high or peak seasons, school holidays, and Karoo or Oudtshoorn festivals.
Please report any damages immediately and prior to check-out.
To ensure that your full damage deposit is refunded, please note the following:
- Do not remove any furniture, cutlery, crockery, linen or towels from the
cabin.
- Do not use the cabin’s towels at the swimming pool
- Leave the cabin and braai area in acceptable condition
- Please take care not to get any makeup, sunscreen, hair dye, etc. on the
towels and bedding provided in the cabins.
- Braaiing (barbecue) is only allowed outside (not in the fireplace inside)
- No pets are permitted.
- No smoking is allowed inside the cabins.
Children aged between 0 and 18 stay free.
