Yzerfontein is a small harbour town with about 1200 inhabitants on the west coast of South Africa about 90 km north of Cape Town. The name in Dutch or Afrikaans means “Iron Fountain”. The main sources of income are tourism (especially during the wildflower season from August to October), mining and fishing.

Yzerfontein is known for its Sixteen Mile Beach, the longest uninterrupted sandy beach on the South African coastline, stretching north from the main beach of the town, to the West Coast National Park, which borders the town. Dassen Island, another nature reserve, is about 10 km offshore.

The house must be booked out as a whole unit sleeping 9 persons. We do not book it per room per night.
Main bedroom with en suite bathroom. Bedroom has a queen bed and is big enough to accommodate 2 extra single mattresses for 2 extra children. En suite bathroom consists of a shower, bath, double basin and toilet.
Second and third bedroom share a bathroom. The bathroom consists of a single basin, shower, bath and toilet.
Second bedroom consists of a king bed and single bed (both in one room). Third bedroom only a double bed.
You need to bring your own bathroom and beach towels.
Living room has tv with only SABC and E-TV channels. Living room has a built in braai. Kitchen is fully equipped and also consists of a washing machine. You need to bring your own food.
Outside stoep area has a braai.
Undercover parking available for 3 cars. Driveway is very steep.
Darling is a nearby town which you can visit Evita se Perron, the cabaret theatre and restaurant created by Pieter-Dirk Uys in 1996, is the home of Tannie Evita Bezuidenhout, the most famous white woman in South Africa. Here you can meet Tannie Evita, along with other respected and yet scandalous members of her family, as well as many of South Africa`s most loved icons and loathed aikonas.
Various restaurants in the area to enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner.
