Hoopoe Haven Guest House

Hoopoe Haven Guest House is a beautiful brand new thatch house with luxurious finishing including sandstone tiles, cherry-wood cupboards, granite counter tops and quality furniture, designed for comfortable living.

Facilities include 3 en-suite double rooms and 2 rooms sharing a private bathroom. The lodge also has an upstairs braai and patio area, lounge, swimming pool, luxury lounge, wi-fi, air-conditioning and a selection of DSTV channels.

We have 3 well equipped self-catering two bedroom, 4-6 sleeper cottages are also available. In additional we have 2 pet friendly budget units - our Dove Garden cottage and our Barbet cottage. We also have a small economic swallows nest - our one bed roomed cottage.

If you want something different we provide glamping (glamorous camping) - 2 ultra luxury tents - that can sleep 4 and 3 people.

We have armed response, panic buttons and have electric fencing.

Hoopoe Haven Guest House is positioned on 2 acres of landscaped gardens in the countryside with Horse trails and a beautiful view of the Magaliesburg Mountains. It is a place to relax and unwind in the peace and quiet of the countryside. One can watch the magnificent bird life, (over 50 different bird species have been spotted here, including guinea fowl, plovers, hoopoes, barbets and shrikes to name a few) while you have a sun downer or a braai on the patio or a cooling swim in our crystal clear pool, with a beautiful sunset in the background.

Hoopoe Haven Guest House accommodation:
Fish Eagle en-suite room:
This is our best accommodation. it is a large luxury air-conditioned double guest room with a spa bath. It has its own entrance with a trellidoor security gate.

Martial Eagle en-suite room:
This is a large luxury air-conditioned double room with a queen bed and a large bathroom.

Hoopoe en-suite room:
This is a large luxury air-conditioned double room with an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. It has its own entrance into a private courtyard. The hoopoe room is dog friendly as it has a separate secure garden outside with sole access from the room.

Kingfisher and masked weaver rooms:
These 2 rooms are let as 1 unit. They have a private bathroom (not en-suite) where you have the keys to it, so no-one else can use it unless you let them.
The kingfisher is double room downstairs next to the bathroom and the masked weaver is a lovely little room upstairs next to the outside balcony.

All of the above have free wifi, air-conditioning, small bar fridge, tea and coffee facilities and a selection of DSTV channels.

Luxury Cottages:
We have 3 luxury 2 bed roomed 6 sleeper cottages.
- Large downstairs bedroom with a queen/king/two twin beds
- Upstairs bedrooms area sleeping 3 or 4 guests with an awesome view of the rest of the lodge

The cottages are within 20 meters away from the pool.

Pet friendly budget cottages

Dove family one bed roomed garden cottage:
A family self-catering one-bedroomed garden cottage on our property next door to the lodge, ideally suited to the family unit as it sleeps 2 adults and 2 children. It has a double air-conditioned bedroom with en-suite bathroom, lounge, full kitchen, dining area and 2 adult sized bunk beds and is set on your own 1000 sq metre garden.

Barbet budget cottage:
A small economic air-conditioned self-catering cottage with open plan lounge and fully equipped cottage the bathroom has a shower only.

Budget cottage:

Glamping - Glamorous Camping:
Hoopoe Haven has gone one step further towards giving you a wide variety of accommodation offerings. We have jumped on the bandwagon of a new concept called Glamping - "GLAMorous camPING The Spotted Dikkop (Sleeps 4) and The Eagle Owl (Sleeps between 8). However, these are not just any tents - they combine the luxury you would expect from Hoopoe Haven with the atmosphere of being outdoors, sleeping in a tent and enjoying the spectacular afternoon sunsets and evening stars while sipping on sundowners or enjoying your braai. It is Hoopoe Haven in a tent! It is very private as it is behind the lodge.

The luxury tents have the following to offer you:

Spotted Dikkop Luxury Tent (usually sleeps 3 but we squeeze in 1 = 4 people)
- Built under a large thatch Lapa so that you get maximum protection from the elements
- Tiled bathroom with both shower and bath (hot and cold water)
- Carpeted air-conditioned 2 sleeper bedroom (5.2M X 3.5M) (an extra bed can be organized)
- Carpeted lounge with TV (piped satellite) there is a Serengeti flap between the lounge and the bedroom.
- Outside fully equipped kitchen including gas stove under the thatch patio
- Spectacular braai area looking out onto a secluded expanse of lawn and landscaped gardens.

Eagle Owl Luxury Tented Lodge (usually sleeps 6 people but we can squeeze in 2 beds = 8 people)
- Built under a large thatch Lapa so that you get maximum protection from the elements
- Tiled bathroom (5m X 2.1m) with both shower and bath (hot and cold water)
- Carpeted 4 - 6 sleeper air-conditioned open plan bedroom / TV lounge (6M X 5M).
- Fully equipped kitchen /dining room / patio(3m X 5m) which has Serengeti flap doors can be opened out in summer or enclosed in winter
- Spectacular braai area looking out onto a secluded expanse of lawn and landscaped gardens
