The Sabi Sand reserve is home to the `Big Five` (elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo), as well as cheetah, wild dog and hundreds of other species of animals, birds and plants indigenous to the area. Game drives traverse an area of 10 000 hectares (24 700 acres) and strict vehicle limits at sighting ensure the exclusivity of your game viewing experience. Off-road driving ensures that you have the best possible view of any exceptional sighting and guides are constantly in touch with each other to keep track of animal movements.
Guests can also enjoy interpretive guided bush walks offering the bird watcher, dendrologist, botanist and the nature enthusiast the ultimate bush experience.
Inyatis superbly positioned guest sitting and dining areas overlook the perennial Sand River proving a plentiful supply of water especially during the dry winter months. The river provides water for wildlife from as far away as the Kruger National Park during this time. Other facilities available - the Warthog hollow bar, swimming pool, air-conditioned gym and walk-in wine cellar.
Our traditional boma is used on nights, (weather permitting) and is a truly memorable way to experience a safari evening under the African night sky.
Accommodation at Inyati Game Lodge:
Inyati Game Lodge consists of eleven chalets of which three are family chalets and eight standard chalets. Each air-conditioned chalet features en-suite bathroom with twin hand basins, separate bath, shower and w.c.
The lodge can accommodates 22 guests in total.

All cancellations will only be accepted in writing and will only be effective on receipt of our cancellation voucher. There may also be cancellation fees levied by third parties or our affiliates such as flight or transfer operators.
Inyati Game Lodge reserves the right to charge the following cancellation fees should a confirmed reservation be cancelled within the following period: -
- 5% cancellation fee if cancelled more than 60 days prior to arrival.
- 25% cancellation fee if cancelled less than 60 days prior to arrival.
- 50% cancellation fee if cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival.
- 90% cancellation fee if cancelled less than 14 days prior to arrival.
Kindly ensure that all guests are covered by a travel insurance policy to protect against unforeseen cancellation, delays, injury, loss or any other prejudice of whatsoever cause.
INYATI SELF DRIVE DIRECTIONS
Recommended route from Johannesburg. Please note that the drive will take approximately
5 / 6 hours ( 500km)
Take the N12 or N4 highway respectively to Witbank / eMalahleni (from OR Tambo, Johannesburg Airport, and follow signs to Boksburg to find the N12).
Follow the N4 highway past Middleburg (Toll Plaza), Belfast / eMakhazeni & Machadodorp (Toll Plaza). Follow the Schoemanskloof option on the N4 towards Nelspruit / Mbombela.
Head east on N4 Nelspruit Northern Bypass. Slight left 270m then turn right toward R37. Go through 1 roundabout (1.1 km). At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto R37 (800m)
Turn left onto Madiba Street 1.9 km and continue onto Provincial P9/2 Rd/R40 continue to follow the R40.
Enter White River, along Chief Mgiyeni Khumalo drive, turn left onto Theo Kleynhans Street /R40/R538 and continue to follow R40/R538
Hazyview is about 60km from Nelspruit. As you approach Hazyview there is a T-Junction.
Turn left at this junction. This road will take you into Hazyview Town.
Carry on straight through the first set of traffic lights. At the intersection with the second set of traffic lights, there will be a signpost that reads Paul Kruger Gate.
At this signpost, turn Right. (If you reach the Paul Kruger gate however, you have traveled too far on this road).
This road is the R536. After approximately 32km there are signposts for Newington Gate on the left hand side of the road.
After approximately 34kms, there are signposts for Savanna Private Game Reserve and Newington Gate Sabi Sands Game Reserve on the left hand side of the road. There will be a green road sign indicating Huntington Lilydale & Justicia left & Skukuza straight.
Turn left and follow the gravel road for 9km until you find the next Newington Gate sign.
Turn right and follow the road for another 3km to Newington Gate, which is where you will enter the Sabi Sand Reserve. From the Newington Gate follow all signposts to Inyati.
For all visitors, an entrance fee is payable of R40 per person to enter the Sabi Sand Wildtuin, which is payable at the gate. Self-drive visitors must ALSO pay a R160 per vehicle entrance fee, at the gate.
Credit card (Visa & MasterCard) and debit card facilities are now available at Newington gate.
Please retain your receipt as proof of entrance and have it stamped at the lodge reception when you are leaving, which acts as your Exit Permit. Once inside the gate, follow the signs to the lodge through the reserve.
The Gates open at 05h00 / 06h00 and close at 22h00 / 23h00. Please note that these times are subject to change. The Sabi Sand Reserve is a protected reserve and therefore access is restricted - hence the gate opening and closing times.
