Ko-Ka Tsara Bush Camp is set in the Nuweveld Mountains of the Great Karoo, 8km outside Beaufort West. This conveniently situated weekend getaway is 470km from Cape Town, 1000 km from Johannesburg and 230 km from George - just off the N1 highway between Cape Town and Johannesburg.
This intimate and exclusive bush camp is situated on a Private Game Reserve comprising 30 000 acres of pristine Karoo veld. The reserve plays host to more than 20 species of game including Giraffe, Kudu, Gemsbok, Wildebeest and Eland.
Bird life is prolific with nearly 200 different varieties recorded on the Reserve.
Ko-Ka Tsara meaning ” small buck`s kloof ” in Khoi, is just off the national road 8 km from Beaufort West. This secluded bush camp consists of 7 chalets, Lounge / Conference Centre, Bar and Boma surrounded by rocky crags and the Nuweveld Mountains.
The night sounds of jackal calling create the ambiance of Africa and make this a nature lover`s paradise.
Ko-Ka Tsara also serves breakfasts and offer Karoo braai packs and braai wood. Dinners for groups of 6 or more is available.
The activities are focused on fun, relaxation and bringing you in contact with nature.
We offer exciting daygame drives in an open vehicle with a well-informed guide, or you can roam our 4x4 trails. For the more adventurous you can explore our hiking trails.
We also boast world-class bass and carp fishing spots.
At the campsite we have a swimming pool, a central lounge with DSTV, a bar and a boma where you can relax after a long day of exploring.
The Camp also offers some of the best star gazing in South Africa with falling stars regularly spotted.

The 7 A-Frame chalets, built from stone, timber and thatch offer the ideal accommodation for this perfect hideaway.
The chalets were designed and built by the game farm owner, Werner Koster, who exclusively used local poplars and stone for their construction.
Stylishly decorated, each chalet sleeps four with an en suite bathroom and air conditioner/heater for extra comfort.
Bedding and towels are provided.
The Rustic decor is completed by slate floors, hand made furniture and wood finishes.
All the chalets have fully equipped kitchens for a self-catering holiday, including a private braai area.
Each chalet has its own private parking area.
About 1km north of Beaufort West off N1 turn at national road sign board and travel 7km to Ko-Ka Tsara Bush Camp.
