Lemoenfontein Game Lodge

Set in the vast expanse of the South African Great Karoo, Lemoenfontein Game Lodge dates back to 1850. Built slowly and soundly to the exacting standards and architectural style of the time, the building remains unchanged with characteristic high ceilings, original wooden floors and wide verandahs which offer guests a sweeping panoramic view of the Karoo landscape.

The old hunting lodge atmosphere can still be felt throughout the old building even though modern comforts like ceiling fans, wall heaters, air-conditioners and en-suite bathrooms have been added to ensure our guests a comfortable stay.

Accommodation at Lemoenfontein Game Lodge:
All accommodation leads out onto wide verandahs. Comfortable en-suite bedrooms have DSTV, tea & coffee making facilities, toiletries and hairdryers.

Enjoy pre-dinner drinks around the honesty bar in the lounge, which has a cosy fireplace for the chilly winter nights.

Karoo Dinners & Farmhouse Breakfasts at Lemoenfontein Game Lodge:
Prepare for an African experience of a life time. In Summer mouthwatering Karoo dinners are served on the large verandah overlooking the Karoo landscape. In winter keep warm in the dining room in front of a cosy logfire.

- Light Lunches are served on request for guests staying over.
- Farmhouse Breakfasts are served.

Please advise us of any specific dietary requirements. Small conferences, Special Occasions and Weddings are also catered for.

4 X 4 Route:
Experience our 4x4 route in your own vehicle whilst taking in the Karoo vistas as well as viewing our Wildlife and plentiful birds on the property. Picnics and sundowners can be arranged to make this a relaxed joyful occasion.

Mountain Biking:
For those experienced mountain bikers, we have a fabulous route which will test your skills for the not so experienced, we have a family route for the younger and older looking for a leisurely cycle, at the same time having the opportunity to take in the Karoo vistas whilst have a game viewing mountain bike ride.

Walking Trails:
A walking experience can be taken anywhere on the 10 000ha property we have trails for those wanting to walk off the stiffness of a long day in a vehicle or we have the skill testing trail up the mountain your reward is a magnificent view from the top of the Nuweveld range across the Karoo Plains.

Swimming Pool:
For those wanting the peace and tranquillity of the Karoo without any effort, this is the place to be a magnificent setting with the backdrop of the Nuweveld Mountain Range as your view whilst sipping a long cold drink of your choice
