Nestled in the heart of the Nambiti Private Game Reserve just outside Ladysmith, Lions Valley Lodgeis one of KwaZulu-Natals best-kept secrets. With over 22 000 acres of beautiful South African bush to explore, our guests are sure to experience the adventure of a lifetime.
We are proud to offer our guests the opportunity to experience the bush in total luxury. With us, visitors witness the splendour that only the South African bush veld can offer.
The lodge is within easy reach of the central Drakensberg and many of the historic battlefields. This malaria-free bush veld, with its mixed vegetation of savannah grasslands, indigenous trees and shrubs is home to the Big Five as well as offering the ideal habitat for a large variety of antelope, smaller game species, and an abundant bird life.
The pool terrace at the Main Lodge offers a wonderful area where guests can socialise, cool off in the spectacular infinity pool or spend a few hours relaxing on the comfortable poolside loungers enjoying the panoramic view over the game reserve and waterhole.
Our guests are treated to both morning and late afternoon game drives both being a unique adventure. These drives are guided by one of our experienced field guides who will not only keep you informed, but also entertained.
Massage treatments can be enjoyed either indoors or on the undercover patio of our newly established Spa Complex.
Our History:
The region surrounding our lodge is steeped in history and is particularly well known for the Battle of Elandslaagte. This was fought on the reserve, during the Anglo-Boer War. This battle was one of the few tactical victories won by the British. There are two memorial sites on the reserve that commemorate the Boer and English troops who laid down their lives for their countries.
