Magoebaskloof Getaway provides a welcome stopover for business travellers, sales executives and holidaymakers. It is an oasis of peace and tranquility where one is able to unwind and enjoy the lush, subtropical vegetation.

Magoebaskloof Getaway`s cottages and campsites are serenely situated in a beautiful fertile valley on the escarpment of the Drakensberg in the scenic mountainous setting of Magoebaskloof. The cottages are less than three hours` drive from Pretoria.

You are at liberty to wander through the area, through the forests and explore the river while enjoying and experiencing the call of the prolific bird life in this peaceful environment. This district boasts some of the most beautiful and exotic gardens in South Africa. During spring there is a magnificence of brilliantly coloured azaleas and flowering cherries.

Come fly-fishing in the beautiful mountains of Magoebaskloof where trout fishing is an extremely popular pastime and sport. On the farm there is a beautiful Trout dam and another dam with bass. There is also a volleyball court, a jungle gym for the kids and a beautiful hiking trail with three lovely waterfalls. The hiking trail goes to the top of the farm alongside a perennial stream. While on your way up you can have a shower under the waterfall in crystal clean spring water.

Accommodation at Magoebaskloof Getaway
Log Cabin 1 or 2 (sleeps 2 people):
The cabins are about 15 metres apart and quite private with a beautiful view of the dam and the forests. It has 2 single beds with electric blankets (during Winter), a television and lounge suite with a small kitchen (open plan design). It has everything needed as well as gas stove/oven, microwave and fridge/freezer. The lovely wooden deck is about 2m x 5m with a table and chairs and a type of Weber to braai(barbeque) and overlooks the Bass dam, about 10m away. Please note that our cottages are completely self-catering and all you need to bring is your food and braai wood (the latter also available for purchase at reception, if needed).

Log Cabin 3 (sleeps 4):
15 metres apart from the rest and quite private with a beautiful view of the dam and the forests. It has 4 single beds each having and electric blanket (during Winter), in the two separate bedrooms (two single beds in each). A television and lounge suite with a small kitchen (open plan design). It has everything needed as well as gas stove/oven, microwave and fridge/freezer. The lovely wooden deck is about 2m x 5m with a table and chairs and a type of Weber to braai(barbeque) and overlooks the Bass dam, about 10m away.

Cabana 6 & 12:
We also have two cosy and very private little Wendy houses which we call cabana 6 & 12 on the bottom sites, just above (10 m) the Trout dam. These two Wendy houses come with two single beds/one double bed with side lamps and side table, inside as well as outside lights, basin, towel, soap, kettle, microwave oven, plates, mugs, forks & knives. There is also space to put up a 3 two-man tents on the same site. There is a communal kitchen with dish washing facilities and a fridge that is shared by all campers. The separate camp bathrooms have one shower and two toilettes each for the men and the women. The electric geyser makes sure you always have hot water.

Narina Cottage (sleeps 4):
Narina cottage has a bedroom, a bathroom with a bath, shower and toilet, a big kitchen, dining room and lounge with a bunk bed and a television. If you want to watch DSTV, bring your own decoder, as we only have free to air channels activated on our decoder. The cottage also has a private garden with braai and outside lights and ponds.

Samango Cottage (11 Sleeper):
The Samango cottage has 4 bedrooms (9 single beds and one double bed and one baby cot) 2 bathrooms, 2 lounges with one having a television. It also has big lovely wooden deck of 14m x 4m and overlooks one of our dams below. With this cottage you really get the forest feeling. If you want to watch DSTV, you must bring your own decoder, as we only have one/two channels activated on our decoder.

Our cottages and Wendy Houses are serviced daily, when the beds are made, dishes washed, etc so that you can kick back, relax and enjoy your stay. If you want breakfast, please let us know and if you would like the menu, we will email it to you as soon as possible. If we do not hear from you in this regard, we will take it that your stay will be fully self-catering.
