The essence of Masescha Country Estate is to experience a slower pace of life in an atmosphere of peace, quiet and privacy. A majestic forest backdrop surrounds this scenic delight welcoming families, groups, couples or business people in search of a relaxing and rejuvenating break away from the hubbub of everyday life.

Free from any road noise, just an abundance of birdsong, you can be assured of a restful stay, but at the same time being well situated to enjoy the diverse range of activities and attractions available along the Garden Route.

We are located at Harkerville almost midway between Plettenberg Bay (approximately 12 km away) and Knysna (approximately 17 km away) in the Riviera of Southern Africa. We are a short 3 minute drive from the N2 National Highway at the Saturday Farmer`s Market turnoff and nearby to the Garden of Eden.

For Birdwatchers there is such a huge variety of bird life which would keep any enthusiast content - so do not forget your binoculars! There are seven picturesque water dams, three of which are stocked with Tilapia for the fishing enthusiast so you might like to try your luck and bring your fishing rod (also available for hire).

Accommodation at Masescha Country Estate:
Birdsong House (Sleeps up to 9):
- Traditional farmhouse style self-catering property with 5 bedrooms over two floors
- Ground floor master bedroom with queen sized bed and en-suite shower/toilet, bedroom 2 with double bed, bedroom 3 with single bed both using a second shower/toilet
- Lounge/dining area with an open fireplace, DSTV, DVD player, drinks fridge and short steep staircase up to bedrooms 4 and 5 both with two single beds and a third shower/toilet in between
- Fully equipped kitchen with large 5-burner gas oven, washing machine, microwave, fridge/freezer, etc
- Outside braai facility next to a partially covered outdoor dining area extending to a large `L` shaped furnished patio entertainment area with views down in the valley, garden and forest
- Linen and towels provided together with a basic daily service
- Blankets, heaters and fans available seasonally as required

Haven Cottage (Sleeps up to 4):
- Quaint and cosy brick and timber cottage with some low ceilings
- Accessed by way of steps from above or below
- Ffully equipped kitchen with gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, etc;
- Separate shower room with toilet
- Ground floor bedroom with queen sized bed
- Lounge/dining room with flat screen DSTV/DVD player, a double sleeper couch and short steep staircase up to the second bedroom in the attic with two single beds and a balcony overlooking the dams and garden at treetop level
- Sunny furnished wooden deck with private brick built braai facility below
- Blankets, heaters and fans available seasonally as required

Sunbird Cottage (Sleeps up to 3):
- One bedroom cottage
- Lounge/dining room with DSTV, DVD and a double sleeper couch (Please note guests using the sleeper couch must access the en-suite via the bedroom only)
- Fully fitted kitchen with fridge/freezer, gas oven, microwave, etc
- Patio garden with braai facility
- Blankets, heaters and fans available seasonally as required

Self Catering Room: Gazania Garden Room
- Queen sized bed, small en-suite shower/toilet, sitting/dining area, flat screen DSTV
- Self-catering facilities include microwave, counter-top oven with integrated 2 ring hotplate, fridge, kettle and toaster, pots and pans etc
- Wooden sun deck with its own brick built braai facility to the side
- Blankets, heaters and fans available seasonally as required

Self Catering Room: Lavender Garden Room
- Budget room - there is no television - with queen sized bed, small en-suite shower/toilet
- Self-catering facilities include a microwave, fridge, counter-top oven, separate 2 ring hotplate, kettle and toaster, pots and pans etc
- No television
- Wooden sun deck and braai facility.
- Blankets, heaters and fans available seasonally as required
