Each of our Classic Rooms has a fireplace (which makes them incredibly cosy in winter), a queen bed, and an en suite bath and shower.
Executive Rooms
Our executive rooms offer an executive experience, with more space and amazing mountain views. The upstairs executive suites also has a fireplace. Enjoy a king-size bed, and an array of amenities that weve created to make sure your experience is a special one.
Family Rooms
With outdoor adventures galore, Clarens is very family friendly and so are our family rooms. Each room has one double bed and two singles, with a cot for little ones available upon request. And you get to watch all the excitement as your family wakes up to beautiful mountain views.
Disability Friendly Family Room
Mont dOr Clarens also proudly hosts a disability-friendly family room on the ground floor. With a wet room, shower seat and bar handle installed in the bathroom, its available to help anyone have a great stay and enjoy the beauty of Clarens.
Self Catering Unit
Imagine a small townhouse and youve got an idea of what our self-catering unit is like. Adjacent to the hotel and self-contained, it has 3 rooms, each of which has a double bed, and a single bed. Two of these rooms have en suite bathrooms, and a third located separately. It has a fully equipped kitchenette, complete with everything you need to make great food, from cutlery and crockery to pots and pans. With a separate entrance and parking for two cars, its the perfect place to stay for unfettered access to Clarens amazing natural surroundings. Maximum of 9 guests.

DIRECTIONS TO Mont d’Or Clarens
ROUTE FROM JOHANNESBURG via WARDEN
Travel along the N3 towards Durban. At Warden, exit the N3 and follow the R714 to Bethlehem. At Bethlehem, turn left onto the N5 and drive through Bethlehem towards Harrismith. Outside Bethlehem, turn right onto R712. Clarens is about 30 km (about 25 minutes) from Bethlehem.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE FROM JOHANNESBURG via HEILBRON
Follow the R59 and pass Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark. Outside Sasolburg turn left onto the R57 and pass Heilbron and Petrus Steyn. Outside Reitz turn right onto the R26 and follow the route to Bethlehem. At Bethlehem, turn left onto the N5 and drive through Bethlehem towards Harrismith. Outside Bethlehem, turn right onto R712. Clarens is about 30 km (about 25 minutes) from Bethlehem.
ROUTE FROM DURBAN (400 Km):
Travel along the N3 (towards
Johannesburg) but exit left at Harrismith (298 km from Durban) onto the N5.
Pass through Harrismith and turn left onto the R712 and travel towards
Phutaditjhaba. This route will take you through the scenic Golden Gate
Highlands National Park, and on to Clarens.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE FROM DURBAN (370 Km):
Travel along the N3 (towards Johannesburg). Exit
the N3 shortly after the Shell Ultra-City north of Estcourt, onto the R74. You
will pass through Winterton, Bergville and then make your way up the Oliviershoek
Pass. You eventually come to a T junction where you turn left onto the R712 to
Phutaditjhaba and The Golden Gate Highlands National Park. Clarens is 105km
from Harrismith.
Children of all ages are welcome at Mont d’Or Clarens, 0 – 2 yrs stay complimentary.
