Mukti is a lovingly curated self-catering Karoo heritage home, ideal for those seeking solitude and luxury, set in the tranquil village of Nieu-Bethesda.  The village is quiet, and Mukti is located on the quieter western side of it too, watched over by the towering Compassberg.

‘Mukti’ is Sanskrit for spiritual liberation.  We have always wanted a soulful, peaceful space where we can go to clear our minds and hearts and we found our little paradise in Nieu-Bethesda.

The property was renovated extensively, whilst paying respect to the heritage and character of the home.  The interiors have been beautifully curated and designed, with top quality bedding and utilities.  The home is air-conditioned and contains 2 spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.  The main bedroom has a king-size bed, a mountain view and an en-suite bathroom.  The second bedroom is a twin room, and also has an en-suite.  The home has a well-equipped kitchen with Smeg appliances and an original Dover stove.

Enjoy dining on the raw wood dining table in the kitchen.  The lounge area has a fireplace for cosy winter night’s and there is a library to curl up with a good book.

Outside, there is a covered verandah with comfortable sofas and an outdoor dining table.  The home has a swimming pool which replicates a small Karoo farm dam and sun loungers for relaxing.  There is also a firepit with seating to enjoy the stargazing. High speed internet access is available should you need to work.

-  If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the deposit.
-  If cancelling 21 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the deposit.
-  If cancelling 30 days before arrival, forfeit 25% of the deposit.

From Chief Dawid Stuurman International Airport: - Exit the airport head northeast on Airport W Road, at the roundabout take the second exit onto Allister Miller Drive, continue through a roundabout and proceed for 1.4 km; - Turn left onto Forest Hill N/B Road and proceed for 850 m; - Use any lane to turn right onto Walmer Boulevard/M9 and proceed for 600 m; - Use the middle lane to turn left onto Settlers Highway/M4, follow the signs for the R75/Grahamstown/Uitenhage; - Keep right to stay on Settlers Highway/M4 and proceed for 6 km; - Take Exit 751A to merge onto the N2 towards the M8/Kempston Road/Cape Town and proceed for 2.5 km; - Take Exit 748 for the R75/Commercial Road towards Uitenhage/Ibhayi and proceed for 600 m; - Use the right 2 lanes to turn right onto Uitenhage Road/R75 and proceed for 13.4 km; - Keep left to continue on the R75 and proceed for 8.7 km; - Continue straight to stay on the R75 and proceed for 202 km; - Continue onto the R63 and proceed for 23.1 km; - Turn right onto the N9/R61/R63 and proceed for 2.7 km; - Turn right onto Caledon Street/N9/R61/R63 and continue to follow Caledon Street/N9/R61 for 300 m; - Turn left onto Goedhals Square/N9/R61 and continue to follow the N9/R61 for 27.3 km; - Turn left and proceed for 21.7 km; - Turn right onto Martin Street and proceed for 2.2 km; - Turn left towards New Road; - Turn right onto New Road and proceed for 42 m; - Turn left and proceed for 300 m; - Turn left onto Pienaar Street and proceed for 450 m; - Mukti will be on the left-hand side, 433 Pienaar Street.
