Be swept away by the majestic beauty of the wild in a contemporary African oasis, set in the heart of the Mjejane Private Game Reserve deep, overlooking the Kruger National Park from the banks of the Crocodile River, Nare Bush Lodge, a luxurious escape for milestone occasions, family get-togethers, intimate groups gatherings, and couples retreats.
Meaning “buffalo” in Tswana, Nare is a contemporary African boutique lodge that offers 5 elegant suites that are designed in neutral earthy tones to blend in with the natural surroundings.
Accommodating up to a total of 10 guests, the open-plan lodgings all face the immaculate bushveld scenery where wild game occasionally roams freely. African Buffalo is the lodge’s main suite, named after Africa’s largest and most formidable wild bovids. The elegant suite, in earthy tones accented by rich patterned fabrics, features an extra-length queen-size bed with both a walk-in indoor and outdoor shower and a free-standing bath. The Carabao Suite, named after the carabao buffalo, a heavy-bodied bovid with dark, slate-coloured hide and spiral horns that needs to wallow in water to cool itself off, is cool and serene with an extra-length queen-size bed. The suite has a walk-in indoor and outdoor shower. With its flat, downwardly curving horns, large dome-shaped forehead, and lazy lids, the Jafarabadi buffalo is the heaviest of all the water buffalo. Jafarabadi Buffalo Suite offers an extra-length queen-size bed with both a walk-in and outdoor shower and a free-standing bath. The Anoa Buffalo Suite, named after the smallest of the wild cattle species, the Anoa buffalo, is classic and contemporary in style with African-inspired décor elements. The suite has an extra-length queen-size bed, a free-standing bath as well as a walk-in indoor and outdoor shower. A breed of water buffalo of Indian origin, the Murrah buffalo is mainly kept for milk production. Its jet-black body with distinctive white markings inspires the monochromatic palette of the Murrah Buffalo Suite. The suite features an extra-length queen-size bed with a walk-in indoor and outdoor shower.
All of the lovely suites offer wardrobe space, air-conditioning and ceiling fans, free Wi-Fi, a personal safe, a hairdryer, a bar fridge and tea and coffee facilities. Freshly laundered towels and complimentary toiletries are provided and the suites open onto shaded verandahs overlooking the surroundings.
The modern, open-plan kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, under-counter fridge-freezer, an ice machine and a fully automatic coffee machine. Designed with maximum comfort in mind, guests can relax in the lounge which offers comfortable seating and a TV. Various dining options are available, and the lodge features an outdoor boma complete with a fire pit and unobstructed views of the bushveld, a spacious patio with a bar, a gas braai, a viewing deck overlooking the bushveld, and the choice to dine indoors or outdoors.
Guests can cool off after a game drive with a dip in the swimming pool, or sip on a cocktail on the sun loungers backgrounded by the captivating setting South African sun.
