Nieuwewerf is a premium collection of luxury, accessible, fully contained self-catering Karoo-style guest houses in Prince Albert, a town nestled at the foot of the Swartberg Mountain which is ringed by fruit and olive farms.
Three guesthouses are part of our masterclass portfolio, Nieuwehuyz ‘new home’, Nieuwerust ‘new rest’ and Nieuweschuur ‘new barn’.
The first cottage, Nieuwehuyz, was completed in 2012. After Nieuwehuyz’s success, Nieuwerust, the second cottage was constructed in 2017 which caters for longer family visits. Nieuweschuur was completed in 2022 and is ideal for a single person or couple wanting to enjoy a loft experience with exquisite views of the Swartberg Mountains.
Nieuwewerf incorporates universal accessible and green architectural elements in the design. Consideration and attention to detail is given to lighting, gradients and level differences, height of switches and controls, as well as ventilation and climate control. Bedrooms are spacious with modern en-suite bathrooms. Bathrooms are equipped with heated towel rails, lever taps, adjustable hand- as well as overhead showers. Dining areas are spacious with fully equipped kitchens. Enclosed courtyards and private spaces are provided.
Nieuwewerf is perfectly located in Nieuwe Street, two streets up from Prince Albert’s main road, Church Street. Nieuwewerf is within easy walking distance of the ‘main strip’ with excellent restaurants, galleries, arts-and-crafts and many other amenities.
