Nungubane Game Lodge situated in the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve set in the heart of the spectacular Waterberg just 3-hours drive from Johannesburg is one of South Africa`s leading reserves.
Two sister lodges, Shidzidzi and Nungubane, five minutes apart by Land Rover, each welcomes a maximum of 10 guests in an atmosphere of intimate luxury and offer ardent game and bird watchers an ideal recluse from which to pursue their pleasure.
Free from malaria and with a temperate climate, Welgevonden is home to a great many species of game, including the `BIG-5` with some 50 white-rhino as well as 16 species of antelope.
Over 250 species of bird have been identified on the reserve ensuring the avid bird-watcher plenty to spot.

Main Facility
The main lodge comprises an intimate lounge, bar and dining room as well as an outdoor dining facility. A large viewing deck, a secluded sala and an elevated swimming pool and pool deck command spectacular views of the surrounding valleys. A cozy boma to enjoy a scrumptious dinner around a crackling camp fire.
Chalets
Five well appointed chalets accommodate two guests per chalet. Comprising king size double or single beds with bathroom en-suite, an outdoor shower facility, private deck, coffee / tea station, air conditioning and overhead fan.
Game Drives
Early morning and late afternoon safaris are conducted in an open game drive vehicle by our experienced and qualified FGASA Guides.
Although dedicated to providing you with an exhilarating safari experience, they also follow strict protocols when viewing wild animals to ensure that the environment is preserved and protected.
Cuisine
Nungubane is renowned for its scrumptious, wholesome home cooked meals which are an essential part of the Nungubane experience.

December to March: Summer Clothes. A warm jacket or jersey for the cooler mornings and evenings. April to November: Winter clothes. A very warm insulated Jacket for the cold morning and nights. Hats, scarf and gloves are recommended.Comfortable walking shoes track shoes or boots are useful for the bush walks. Sandals are useful for walking around the lodge. Shorts and t-shirt needed all year round for the warm midday period.Swimming costume, sun block, sunglasses and lip balm are recommended.
1. A non-refundable deposit of 20% is required within 7 days. Full payment of the balance is due 30 days prior to guest/s arrival, unless the booking is made within 30 days of travel, in which case full prepayment will be required immediately
2. Bookings cancelled or amended 60 to 30 days prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee equal to 50% of total accommodation amount
3. Bookings cancelled or amended 29 to 15 days prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee equal to 75% of total accommodation amount
4. Bookings cancelled or amended 14 to 0 days prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee equal to 90% of total accommodation amount.
Take the N1 North from Johannesburg towards Polokwane. About 170km from Sandton, leave the N1 at the Kranskop Toll Plaza, follow the signs for Nylstroom. Go straight through Nylstroom, following the R33 to Vaalwater (60Km from Nylstroom) Go straight through Vaalwater. After 26 km, you will see the main Gate on your left. Continue past the Main Gate for 22km, then turn left at the Schoongelegen sign on to a sand road.Welgevonden West Gate is 16.6km along the sand road, on your left.
