Oceana Beach & Wildlife Reserve in Port Alfred, Eastern Cape, South Africa offers ultra-luxurious accommodation that includes a select group of unique guest suites in the Ocean Lodge and Private Ocean House as well as spectacular individual private chalets. Our Africa-shaped knife-edge pool has a marked point where you can rest your chin that is the absolute centre of Oceana.
It is a heavenly place in the Eastern Cape, just outside of a tiny jewel of a village called Port Alfred. Oceana Beach & Wildlife Reserve is individually and sumptuously appointed; suites are spread along the wave of the Indian Ocean and the reserve facing vistas overlooking sweeping plains.

Accommodation
All the suites at Oceana offer privacy, serenity and opulence in equal measure, from the moment you enter our peaceful reserve until you leave, our guests are the richer for the experience.
Sip on a glass of wine in front of the wooden fire place, or enjoy a cocktail while looking out onto the reserve, scouting for animals drinking from the waterhole or grazing in front of the lodge. From June to Sep you can even enjoy watching the Whales coming past and Dolphins playing in the Ocean.
From the Central Bar Area, you walk out onto the beautifully appointed courtyard and pool area, where you can lie on the pool loungers while soaking up a bit of sun, or cool down in the Africa shaped swimming pool.
Facilities
Oceana can cater for small intimate weddings of 20 to 40 persons as well as medium sized weddings up to 120 persons.
The courtyard area central to the main building is used for wedding receptions, covered with a Bedouin tent. For weddings the entire lodge has to be booked for the day of the wedding and guests are accommodated on a bed and breakfast basis. 10 Rooms
Venue hire includes the following:
- Sole use of Oceana Wildlife Reserve for the day of the wedding
- Bedouin tent to cover the Courtyard area
- Round tables, chairs and covers for seating 8 to 10 persons

At Oceana we know that living the African Dream is all about experiencing the great outdoors, smelling the fragrance of the earth as the rain falls, feeling the warmth of the sun warming ones soul and the incredible thrill of looking for animals in their natural habitat. Because we also know that each of our guests live life at a different pace, we are also able to tailor-make our game experiences, and our ranger can offer the game experience that each has always dreamed of. We view game from the vantage point of our elevated veranda, while sipping warm coffee at the crack of an African dawn, or at the colourful end of a perfect day.
You are invited to climb aboard a safari vehicle and as the lazy African afternoons stretch out seemingly endlessly, spot our range of free to roam animals. We pack sundowners and stop at any number of vantage points so that our very special guests can live the dream that we are lucky enough to call our home Oceana Beach & Wildlife Reserve.

After about 8 km, you will find Oceana's turn off on your right hand side
From Port Elizabeth - via Grahamstown / Bathurst / Port Alfred:
This is a mere 2 hour drive
Follow the N2 towards Grahamstown
Take the R67 via Bathurst / Port Alfred
Once in Port Alfred, take a left on the R72 towards East London
After about 8km on this road, you will find Oceana's turn off on your right hand side
