Cottages
Each cottage is uniquely christened after an Indigenous Tree that you will find planted in the gardens.
Our pride is reflected in the spotlessness of our cottages, and the high level of maintenance is mandatory and essential in making your visit as comfortable as if you were in your own home.
Bathrooms
In all our bathrooms you can expect superior quality towels, and a delightful bathroom box consisting of soap, hand cream, shampoo, shower cap, and other helpful necessities.
Some cottages have have a bath and stand up bath showering facilities, some with full bathrooms with separate baths and showers and Sweet Thorn has a lavish corner bath.
Kitchens
Excluding Wild Olive and Rock Fig, all the cottages have kitchens that are fully equipped including a microwave. They are provided with fresh farm milk, homemade butter and cream daily. We also top up the filter coffee, tea, sugar and rusks daily.
Wild Olive and Rock Fig have only a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities including the fresh farm milk etc. All cottages include braai (BBQ) facilities
The Bedroom and Lounge
All cottages include comfy beds with fine mattresses and quality linens. Each cottage has a unique style of dcor and soft furnishings. Lavender Tree is our biggest, and has a large bedroom for two as well as a comfortable day bed in the lounge area for another person.
Wild Olive and Sweet Thorn Cottages offer an interleading door, as do Bushwillow and Rock Fig for larger families. Sagewood, Bushwillow and Wild Olive Cottages are wheelchair friendly.
The Farm
Random Harvest Farm 21ha and has vast numbers of mature indigenous trees, our own cows, chickens, fruit and vegetables. Geese wander freely in the nursery.
The Indigenous nursery on the farm uses only environmentally friendly products in the production of our plants, in keeping with our dedication to nature and the delicately balanced eco-systems.
For the more energetic, theres walking, bird watching and learning about our amazing plants from the interesting information boards in the retail nursery.
If you have children take them to watch the cows being milked or to play in the sandpit.
Directions from the Airport (O.R. Tambo):
From the airport follow the signs towards Johannesburg along the R24
Then take the N3 towards Pretoria
The N3 becomes the N1 Roodepoort
From the N1 Roodepoort take the Beyers Naud Drive offramp and turn right traveling away from Johannesburg
4km from the off ramp you will find a major crossing Christian De Wet Road from there continue straight along Beyers Naud Drive for a further 8.2km.
Pass Garden World Nursery on your right our turn-off is 1.8km further on.
Opposite Oakfield farm at Valdor Centre turn right into College Road.
Continue for 2.2.km keeping right and following the small directional signs to Random Harvest Nursery.
