Riverview Cottage is owner managed and offers comfortable and restful accommodation in a quiet street.
You can relax with a book or a cold drink on a large veranda with views of the Vaal River and extensive bird life and where Fish Eagles are regularly heard.
If you do not want to stay in a city, Barkly West is an ideal stopover (only 35km from Kimberley) and situated in the middle of a large alluvial diamond digging area.
The River View Cottages overlook a sweeping bend in the Gamka River. The 3 cottages are situated in the Matjiesvlei valley on The River Farm near Calitzdorp in the heart of a World Biodiversity Hotspot in the Little Karoo. Each cottage can accommodate a couple and is self-catering and self-contained.
Come and enjoy walking amongst the Karoo Koppies, swimming and fishing in the river, the wildlife of The River Farm and the view from your stoep of the river and the expansive Swartberg Mountain Range. At the end of the day, watch the sunset and the stars appear as you braai in the boma.
The River View Cottages are unfortunately not pet-friendly.
The Old School House is a spacious three bedroomed free-standing house which can accommodate 8 guests over three bedrooms (two of which are double and the third has two adult bunk beds). The central bathroom has both a shower and a bath and the large open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining room is fully equipped for self-catering. We only take one booking at a time, so you occupy the entire building.
Please note The Old School House is unfortunately not pet-friendly.

There is a double en suite room, an en suite room with 2 x 3/4 beds & a single room with a private bathroom.
The rooms all have panel heaters for winter and Airconditioners for summer.
When coming into Barkly West from Kimberley turn left immediately after the Caltex Garage into Ferry Street, follow the street until it takes a left turn.
After the left turn we are on your left at 4 Ferry St, Barkly West.
When coming into Barkly West from Upington/Kuruman turn right immediately before the Caltex Garage into Ferry Street and continue down until the street makes a left turn.
We are on the left - 4 Ferry St, Barkly West.
Please note that each River View Cottage can only accommodate a couple or a single adult. Infants travelling in a camping cot (strictly under 6 months), by special arrangement, but unfortunately no children between the ages of 1-18.
