Saronsberg consists of two farm portions formerly known as Waveren and Welgegund. The farm originally formed part of the beautiful and historic Twee Jonge Gezellen (TJG) until it was divided between the two Krone brothers in the 1950s. Waveren and Welgegund, which lie on either side of TJG, were acquired in 2002 and renamed after the commanding mountain whose slopes are home to a portion of their vines: Saronsberg

Wine:
Many Cape wine cellars are housed in wonderful old buildings reflecting the Cape Dutch heritage of the land. However, when the Saronsberg cellar complex was designed and built in 2003, the decision was taken to create a structure that embodied a modern interpretation of the valley`s rich past.

We have great respect for the cultural history of the area and wanted to express that in this, the heart of our production facility. Despite the contemporary design, the architecture incorporates classic Cape Dutch elements that speak of an era that pre-dates us, but still informs our future.

Apart from vineyards, Saronsberg is also in the process of establishing fruit and olive orchards on the more fertile soils, with the aim of diversifying production. The potential for producing premium quality olives and olive oils was confirmed in 2009 when Saronsberg`s first vintage of olive oil was pressed, with aims for commercial release in the near future.

Accommodation:
Saronsberg Vineyard Cottages are situated just outside the historic town of Tulbagh on the slopes of the Saronsberg mountains just 120km from Cape Town.

Newly renovated, cosy and well-equipped 1 or 2 bedroom self catering cottages, all with en-suite bathroom, spacious open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area with a high, arched ceiling invite to relax and unwind with friends and family.

All twenty units are fully equipped and have their own built in fireplace/BBQ that makes both winter and summer the ideal place to enjoy the breathtaking views of our stunning valley over a glass of award winning Saronsberg wine.

We provide all linen and towels as well as complimentary amenities. Our beds can be changed from King-size to single beds to best suit your individual needs.

100% cancellation charge for total services reserved if cancelled 6 or fewer days in advance; (this includes all "no-shows" - non arrivals without written cancellation),75% cancellation charge for total services reserved if cancelled between 7 and 14 days prior to arrival, 50% cancellation charge if cancelled between 15 and 21 days prior to arrival, 25% cancellation charge if cancelled between 22 and 30 days prior to arrival, 0% cancellation charge if cancelled 31 or more days prior to arrival.

Directions:

From Cape Town take the N1 North to Paarl
- Take R44 Klapmuts/ Wellington turnoff - turn left towards Wellington.
- Follow the R44; on the outskirts of Wellington, turn left at the traffic lights towards Hermon/ Ceres/ Porterville.
- Follow the R44 for approximately 50kms, past the Hermon turn-off and through the Nuwe Kloof pass.
- Turn left at sign: Tulbagh
- At stop, turn left on to Van der Stel Street
- Pass Spar on the right; at 4-way stop turn left
- After approximately 4 kms, Saronsberg on the right

From Cape Town take the N7 to Malmesbury
- At Malmesbury, get on the R46 towards Riebeek-Kasteel.
- Remain on the R46 to Hermon.
- At T-junction after Hermon, turn left, and continue to Tulbagh on the R46.
- Go through the Nuwekloof pass
- Turn left to Tulbagh
- At stop, turn left on to Van der Stel Street
- Pass Spar on the right; at 4-way stop turn left
- After approximately 4 kms, Saronsberg on the right

From Cape Town Airport
- Leave airport towards Somerset West
- Take R300 and travel north towards N1
- Take N1 north to Paarl.
- Take R44 Klapmuts/ Wellington turnoff - turn left towards Wellington.
- Follow the R44; on the outskirts of Wellington, turn left at the traffic lights towards Hermon/ Ceres/ Porterville.
