It is all in the name Serene-estate is pervaded with peace and serenity. The guesthouse is situated at the border of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park (new name for St. Lucia Greater Wetland Park). Its architecture is a specific Dutch design: a minimalistic approach with the warmth of African atmosphere.
The 4 spacious and very luxurious guest rooms have via big windows a direct view onto the park and guests can enjoy the bushbuck, red duiker, monkey, mongoose, bush baby and a variety of birds and insects. After sunset sometimes hippos can be spotted and if you are lucky even a leopard.

The rooms (50m2) are bright, large and have big windows with a wide pivot door to your private garden and terrace. Each room has a comfortable sitting area and is fitted with air-conditioning (heating & cooling), ceiling fan, mini bar, satellite DSTV, Wireless internet, safe, king size bed with Auping mattresses, hairdryer, coffee and tea facilities.
The very luxurious rooms are situated at the border of the park with a direct view onto landscaped gardens of the Wetland Park. Guests can enjoy the bushbuck, red duiker, monkey, mongoose, bush baby, a variety birds and insects and at night the hippo. The silence and the constant sound of the sea reminds you where you are.
The bathroom is very luxurious with a bath and a separate shower and for the real swimmer there is a big saltwater pool and 2 large sun decks.
Take the N2 from Durban/Johannesburg. Turn off at R618 to Mtubatuba + follow the signs to St. Lucia (25km). On arriving in St. Lucia, cross the bridge over the Estuary and turn right at the T-junction (Mc Kenzie Str).
At a ticket office and Wimpy at the left side turn left into Dolfyn Str. Take second street to the right (Pelican Str). Then the first to the left (Kuda Str). At the end you cross the Hornbill Str and follow the sign Serene-estate Guesthouse (10m)
