Situated in 15,000 hectares of pristine wilderness in the south-eastern section of the world renowned Kruger National Park.

With the perennial Crocodile River as the Southern border, offering superb viewing of water bird, hippopotamus and large herds of buffalo and elephant right on your doorstep, the private concession area of Mpanamana stretches east up along the border of Mozambique.

Each of the large 22 air-conditioned chalets, are expertly positioned to ensure complete privacy, offer game-viewing decks, mini-bars, en suite bathrooms including outdoor showers, tea/coffee stations, hairdryers, safes, and comfortable lounge areas.  Family rooms are also available on request.  The unique Tsonga shield-shaped roof structure of the lodge is carried through to every chalet.

Activities & Facilities
Early morning and late afternoon game drives in open vehicles will give you every opportunity to find some of Africa’s most sought after animals, birds and reptiles, under the expert guidance of our fully trained rangers, returning to camp to enjoy traditional South African cuisine, prepared by our team of dedicated chefs.

Your dining experience options include the traditional dinning areas, but there is something really special about eating under the star studded African night sky, around a blazing fire, or out on the deck, with the distant Lebombo mountains on the eastern horizon as the perfect backdrop.

Other facilities and activities at Shishangeni, all adding to your total relaxation, include lazing around the swimming pool, reading a book from the library, sipping on a cool, refreshing glass of wine, personally selected from our well stocked wine cellar.  For the more energetic, some time spent in the fully equipped gymnasium may just be the stress reliever needed.

The Lodge welcomes children of all ages but regrets that for safety reasons children under the age of 6 years will not be permitted on game drives.  Specially designed kids activities are available.

Shishangeni by BON Hotels is now also offering a children’s program with a dedicated childrens ranger that offers kiddies game drives in the mornings and afternoons with an extra activity slot before and after lunch where children are kept busy and get educated on the surrounding bush creatures.
