Simbavati Hilltop Lodge is situated within the world renowned and breathtakingly beautiful Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, which forms part of the Greater Kruger Park - home to the famous white lions. Enjoy magnificent views of the bush, the Nhlaralumi River and the distant foothills of the Drakensberg Mountain Range from the vantage point of the beautiful small koppie on which the lodge is situated.

One can expect exceptional game viewing within Simbavati Hilltop Lodge`s extensive tract of over 12,000 hectares of unspoilt wilderness. The lodge guarantees an exclusive, authentic and unforgettable African Safari experience.

The lodge facilities allow for complete relaxation and appreciation of the unique, authentic surroundings. Guests can sit back and enjoy a cocktail on the deck overlooking the river or in the covered pool lounge for shaded outdoor relaxation, spend an afternoon at the outdoor infinity pool with panoramic views of the bushveld and distant mountains and visit the gift shop for safari memorabilia.

***Please Note: At Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, you will be required to pay a vehicle entrance fee of R 140.00 per vehicle and a conservation levy of R 328.00 per person (subject to change without prior notice). The conservation levy is payable at the lodge and can be prepaid.

Simbavati Hilltop Lodge accommodation:
Accommodation is pure African safari, and comprises of individual pavilion-style luxury tents, arranged to create a unique village feel. Each suite comprises two individual tents - one for the main bedroom, and a separate bathroom, which is linked by a passage that can be opened up on one side - allowing for an indoor or private outdoor shower experience. Privacy is guaranteed thanks to the careful placement of the tented-suites, ensuring a tranquil and intimate stay. Some of the private suites are situated to avail of the breathtaking views, and are therefore accessible via steep stairs.

For the mobility impaired, please ensure that you stipulate your needs when booking.

Each of our tents is equipped with a private game-viewing deck and daybed to take in the stunning scenery, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, stocked mini bar, coffee and tea making facilities, complimentary eco-friendly and biodegradable products, electric blankets for the winter season, safe and hairdryer.

Activities:

The lodge offers big 5 game drives in the early morning and late afternoon/evening, taking advantage of the time of day that the animals are naturally most active. Nocturnal creatures - including the big cats - are regular sightings at night. Currently over 40 mammal species are listed as resident in the Timbavati, including the Big 5 - Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant, as well as endangered species including Wild Dogs and Cheetah.

There is an abundance of bird life, with a total of 360 species of bird listed.

Cancellation Policy:

1. All cancellations must be provided in writing.

2. Cancellation policy per booking:

2.1. If cancelled up to 61 days prior to arrival, a 10% cancellation fee of the full booking value (inclusive of VAT) will be charged.

2.2. If cancelled 31 to 60 days prior to arrival, a 25% cancellation fee of the full booking value (inclusive of VAT) will be charged.

2.3. If cancelled 15 to 30 days prior to arrival, a 75% cancellation fee of the full booking value (inclusive of VAT) will be charged.

2.4. If cancelled 14 days or less prior to arrival, a 100% cancellation fee of the full booking value (inclusive of VAT) will be charged.

3. Cancellations of 4 rooms and more, group cancellation policy will apply.

4. Guaranteed reservations will be held for the first night only, after which the accommodation will be released.
