Sodwana Bay Lodge situated in the heart of Maputaland, close to the pristine Lake Shazibe nestling behind the world`s highest natural dunes, a short distance from the sea, and has been carefully designed to match the rustic eco-orientated nature of the region.

Sodwana Bay National Park, world renowned as a diving destination, is chosen by more South Africans to qualify as scuba divers than anywhere else.

Sodwana Bay Lodge boasts the only 5-star PADI diving school in the district certified to train and license divers to international instructor level. The school has a fully equipped dive shop, an on site 3 metre dive pool and organises a comprehensive range of day and night ocean and qualifying dives.

Magnum Fishing Charters is based at Sodwana Bay Lodge and offers deep-sea fishing trips. Test your wits and skills against the noble marlin and combative game fish and if that is your bag - release them again into their watery world.

Swap your experiences of the day at the popular poolside bar and then wander through to same the wholesome fare served at the resort`s Leatherback Seafood and Grill Restaurant.

Relax in Sodwana Bay in the comfort of one of our 2 x 4 sleeper Family lodges + 5 Double bed + 14 Twin-bed. All with Satellite DStv, Air Cons, phones, Bar Fridges, en-suite shower and toilet, ceiling fan, serviced daily, and include complimentary tea and coffee making facilities.

The chalets are situated right in the heart of the Lodge`s diving and fishing centres and are adjacent to the volleyball court, Leatherback restaurant, swimming pool and bar.

Sodwana Bay is considered to be the premier dive site and is the only tropical dive site in South Africa. Sodwana is one of the few places world-wide where dive sites are reached by weaving a path through breaking waves. The reefs at Sodwana are believed to be the southern most coral reefs in the world and have a wide diversity of attractions

Sodwana Bay Lodge Scuba Centre was formed in March 1998 taking over from Sodwana Dive Retreat (SDR). Including our time with SDR we have been the official dive concession for Sodwana Bay Lodge since 1993. Since 1998 we have been operating exclusively from the Lodge. Incorporated into our fold is the Sodwana School of Diving formed in 1993. It was originally a NAUI facility. We changed to PADI in 1996 and have worked hard to become first a PADI Dive centre and then a PADI 5 star centre. In April 99, We were extremely proud to become the first PADI 5 star IDC centre in Sodwana.
