If you are looking for a secluded getaway, within an hours drive from Johannesburg or Pretoria, you will find Stone Hill nestled among the hills of the Magaliesberg.
Situated on a private bushveld farm and perched high above the distant village of Magaliesburg, Stone Hill offers 6 top class, fully equipped and luxurious self-catering timber cottages, accommodating from 2 to 8 guests each. All have open plan lounges, fully fitted kitchens, bedrooms and full bathrooms.
We are family and pet friendly and welcome children of all ages and most breeds of house trained and socialized dogs and other pets by arrangement. Each cottage and its garden is entirely encompassed by a fence for your pets peace of mind!
We require dog owners to please remember to keep rabies jabs up to date and that dogs are medicated for ticks and fleas before coming to Stone Hill.
There is a wide variety of indigenous small game and birdlife at Stone Hill. A number of sightings include Jackal, Duiker, Warthog, Porcupine, Snakes, Ticks, Scorpions, Bats, Vultures, a large variety of insects and birds. You need to walk carefully and quietly to see them as they are notoriously shy! For the flora lovers, a mosaic of indigenous plants can be seen on the farm.
We at Stone Hill pride ourselves on our warm welcome and personal but unobtrusive attention. We offer you peace and seclusion and a place where your internal clock will instinctively slow to the rhythm of the bush.

Each cottage is constructed from timber and each unit has:

Please note that over a weekend, a minimum of a 2 night stay is required. Over a long weekend a minimum of a three night stay is required.

- The small splash pool is within easy reach of the cottages and the view down the valley is breathtaking.

- a 5 km walking trail where you can fully experience the peace and tranquility of the veld and your dog/s can run unleashed. There are benches along the way for the weary to sit and catch their breath! Please remember to pack water bowls and drinks for the walk!

Paper Bark Function Room
The Paper Bark Function Room is situated on a hill with magnificent views of the Magaliesburg area. It is ideally placed as it is central to every one of the self catering cottages and the pool and lapa.
It comprises a large room with ample lighting and windows, an indoor fireplace, small bar area, kitchen for self catered functions and a large brick braai off the patio.
From Pretoria take the N14 Krugersdorp. At the N14 intersection turn right towards Ventersdorp N14.
From Johannesburg take the M47 to N14 intersection. Cross over the intersection and continue on the N14 for 10.5 km where you reach a T-Junction. Turn right onto the R563/N14 for only 500m before turning left onto the N14 Ventersdorp.
Continue for 11.km before reaching a fourway stop. Turn right onto the R24 Rustenburg/Malgaliesburg. Travel for 13km. As the road curves to the left, start indicating right. At the NiMag sign turn right and follow the map.
