Tanamera Lodge is a romantic, luxury lodging sleeping 14 guests in 7 individual chalets. Nestled on the malaria-free slopes of the Sabie River Valley, offering stunning accommodation and breathtaking Lowveld scenery.
Being located between Sabie and Hazyview, our guests are able to explore the Lowveld Panorama, including sights such as God`s Window, the Blyde River Canyon and Pilgrim`s Rest. With the Kruger National Park`s Phabeni Gate just a short 30-minute drive, our visitors may easily access this world-renowned Big 5 reserve on self-driven or guided safari tours. This is a Birders Paradise and home to birds such as the Narina Trogon and Purple Crested Turaco. Activities in the area include abseiling, white water rafting, hot air ballooning, microlight flights, elephant encounters and horseback riding and much more!
The main lodge area is tastefully decorated and comprises a dining area, lounge and comfortable bar area. Step down onto our main deck where there is a rim-flow pool and absorb the exceptional views over the cascading Sabie River Valley. Meals are served in our main lodge area or on the candle lit deck... or privately in your chalet or on your deck. Tanamera is perfect for romantic getaways.
Rates include dinner, bed and breakfast. We can recommend local places for light lunches.

Accommodation at Tanamera Lodge: Our five magnificent Luxury Chalets are fully serviced and offer king-size beds with mosquito nets, stone baths, waterfall showers, fireplaces and plunge pools.
In addition to this, the two Honeymoon Chalets offer open-door outside showers on private decks with outstanding valley views and a sitting room/dining area. Each Chalet is secluded, private and surrounded by the unspoilt indigenous bush.

We do supply a laundry service and room service.
Safety and Security: We live in a secure area but please bear in mind that it is accessible to other people. We do have security guards in the evening. The main gate is locked at 6:00 in the evening and open the gate at 6:00 in the morning. The surrounding area is safe to walk in and guests can walk to the Sabie River.
Communication and TV: We unfortunately do not have WiFi access due to the nature of the location of Tanamera Lodge. If Wifi is need during your stay with us, please let us know ahead of time so we can try to accommodate your request.
We have reception for most South African mobile phone companies and have a landline. There is access to a cellular networks of both MTN and Vodacom, both local service providers, should you wish to access the internet or emails. We do have a TV lounge with satellite connections.
Activities:
We are in a forest and mountain area, with excellent views into the Sabie River Valley. Try bird-watching, hiking and fishing around the lodge. We do have a swimming pool in addition to your plunge pools. Enjoy a relaxing massage or beauty treatment in the privacy of your chalet. Range includes hot stone massage, back & neck massage, reflexology, sports massage, swedish massage - advance booking is essential!
Spend a full day absorbed in Mpumalanga's most spectacular scenery. Visit the 3rd largest canyon in the world, the Blyde River followed by 3 Rondawels, Bourkes Luck Potholes, God's Window, a light lunch in Graskop, South of Graskop, where the Sabie River rises are numerous waterfalls tumble down the mountains, visit the beautiful Berlin Falls and Lisbon Falls.
We can help you arrange one of many adventure activities in the area, which is abundant in thrills for all ages and ability. Head off an adventurous ride quad-biking through the scenic Sabie River Valley with an experienced guide, with a high emphasis on enjoying nature. Explore the art of archery in an exciting and fun way, using standard longbows. Mountain biking trails offer a variety of spectacular Mountain Bike Trails within the Sabie River Valley. Enjoy 20 exhilarating rapids (grade 2 to 3) surrounded by indigenous forest or take the chance to descend the Sabie River Gorge with a Gecko (a Gecko is a white water tube). Try a Treetops Canopy Tour or white water rafting. We can also recommend golf, safari drives, horse-riding, mountain-biking and more.
Ride through the Sabie River Valley near Hazyview, along scenic trails through orchards and the riverine bush! Choose from a cattle drive or cross country course, elephant encounter ride or sundowner trek.
Learn about endangered wildlife at Moholoholo, a wildlife centre which contributes to the conservation of endangered species, and undertakes the rehabilitation of injured, orphaned and poisoned wild animals and birds. From Moholoholo head to Khamai Reptile Park, a centre for reptile related research and public education.
Experience South Africas largest and most famous game reserve, The Kruger National Park, by booking into an open vehicle safari drive. Alternately, ask us for recommended self-drive routes into the park and we would be more than happy to help.
For any special occasions, talk to us and we will do our best to ensure your visit is as fulfilled as can be.
Clothing and Accessories:
Hiking shoes, a light jacket (it can get chilly in the evening). You may even need a light rain coat for the odd summer storm. Swim wear is a must!
This is a malaria-free area but a few mosquitos may still bite. Bring long sleeves and slacks for evening protection and insect repellent is recommended.
Birders, don't forget your binoculars too.

Cancellation Policy:
A 50% deposit of the full accommodation cost paid directly into our bank account or by credit card to secure your booking on or before the date mentioned on the booking form. The balance of the accommodation cost is payable before arrival or on departure. Accommodation cost exclude beverages and extra activities.
Bookings will only be confirmed upon receipt of deposit. Please fax or e-mail a deposit slip once you have paid your deposit. We will be unable to confirm a booking without proof of payment.
When making a direct deposit into our bank account, please use the booking number stated under your name on the booking form as a reference.
Cancellations policy: • Less than 7 days - forfeit the full deposit • 8 to 14 days - forfeit 75% of the deposit less banking charges, if applicable (app 5%) • 15 to 21 days - forfeit 50% of the deposit less banking charges, if applicable (app 5%) • 22 or more days - full deposit returned less banking charges, if applicable (app 5%)
We do not accept cheques. We do accept all major credit cards; i.e. Master Card, VISA, American Express & Diners Club. Check in from 12:30 pm and check out before 10:30 am. Dinner is served from 19:00 pm; if a late arrival is intended, please make special arrangements beforehand. Please note that due to meal arrangements, dinner will not be served after 8:00 pm. No children under the age of 16 years. As we are licensed, no alcohol may be brought onto the property. No pets allowed.
