The Haystack

The Haystack on Homestead is a long-stay executive self-catering establishment suited for the business and executive person, as well as the leisure traveler looking for that quiet and tranquil setting that offers serendipitous home comforts for the duration of their stay.

With a cul-de-sac location in the quiet and tranquil neighborhood of Edenburg, Rivonia, our guests could easily forget they are in Sandton, less than 8km from the financial center of the Sandton Central Business District and a stone-throw from the Rivonia business hub.

Our North facing beautifully landscaped gardens provide an ideal ambiance to lose yourself, individually or as a group a perfect setting for swimming, sun-bathing, braaing (barbecuing) or lounging, just listening to bird-song.

The air-conditioned apartment suites, each with individual private entrances and independent security alarm systems, provide a secure lock-up-and-go setting for the long-stay guest. No comfort and amenity has been spared to ensure that our guests lose themselves in executive comfort in each fully self-catering suite each with its own en-suite heated bathrooms. Each suite is equipped with modern fittings, finishes, furnishings and home appliances. These are complemented with free WIFI and cable TV/DSTV.

The combination of our outdoor gardens and apartment suites make The Haystack the ideal setting for a residential function venue that can accommodate private group entertainment, team building/training sessions and meetings.

We enforce a strictly no-smoking policy in our rooms, but guests who wish to, are permitted to smoke in the gardens, where we encourage a responsible disposal of cigarette butts.

This garden-facing apartment features all the standard facilities and amenities but with separate private bedroom that has a study desk and built-in wardrobes. LED television sets are installed in both living area and bedroom. The en-suite bathroom features a shower and bath, characterized by our modern contemporary finishes and accessories.
On request, the living room sofa can be replaced with a sleeper-couch to accommodate additional sleeping space.

APARTMENT 2

This garden-facing apartment features all the standard facilities and amenities but with separate private bedroom that has a built-in wardrobe. The en-suite bathroom features a bath, characterized by our modern contemporary finishes and accessories. A safety grab rail is installed for the convenience of bath users who prefer to use it standing. The study desk is located in the living area. LED television sets are installed in both living area and bedroom.

APARTMENT 7
Apartment Description: Executive Self-catering One-bedroom Cottage.

For our sense of modesty, we would have called this the CEO Suite. This garden-facing suite features all the standard facilities and amenities but with a separate private bedroom that has a walk-in dressing room. LED television sets are installed in both bedroom and living area. The en-suite bathroom, characterized by our modern contemporary finishes and accessories features a bath and a marble top washbasin vanity unit. A safety grab rail has been installed for the safety of our bath users who prefer to use it as a shower.
The living area has a full sized sofa with recliner and a four-seater dining table. A separate eating area with bar stools is provided adjacent to the open-plan kitchen area. The living area opens up to a private outdoor terrace with a patio sofa set.
The kitchen is equipped with a full-sized fridge/freezer, stove/oven, digital microwave and a washing machine/dryer combo for private use.

APARTMENT 8
Apartment Description: Executive Self-catering Studio Apartment.

This upper-storey apartment has the best views and features all the standard facilities and amenities in a spacious and uncluttered studio apartment suite. The wardrobe is built-in but the rest of the furniture is freestanding, enabling the long-stay guest to personalize the furniture arrangement. The en-suite bathroom features a fully functional shower, characterized by our modern contemporary finishes and accessories.
