Your tingling senses grows curious as to what these barrels have seen, and of course, with what they have blessed those who experienced their harvest.
All the barrels used are local, sourced from various wine farms. Each with a history of its own, unknown to many of us, but nonetheless with a story filled with laughter, good times with family and friends and the bringing together of people for a great experience with great wine.
The Pallet Room
Our Pallet Room is filled with a history of its own. The pallets that were reborn into The Pallet Room the feeling of in this room were sourced locally, as everything else used in our rooms. Each Pallet was carefully dismantled and put to its final resting place. The effect that the Pallet room have on our guests are wow, like all our rooms, each in their own way.
The room offers light, warmth, a cozy feeling and ampule space. The patio offers a place to sit in front of your room, enjoying the view over a glass of wine, or some champagne.

The versatility of cork. The room features an extra length king size bed and views of the valley and vineyards. The room also features an office desk, kitchenette and en suite bathroom.
The Difference Room
This room is exactly according to its name. It is different than our other rooms, yet within the same theme line. The difference is decorated with solid wood furniture, located and sourced locally, handcrafted by a carpenter in Paarl region, and carefully selected to underline the basic, yet very classic origin of the wine lands decor.
The wood was carefully chosen to enhance the ambiance of the current theme of The Log Cabin. The majority of the wood chosen was Blackwood, with a history of hundreds of years, gathered through the outskirts of the Western Cape. Each piece of the solid wooden furniture was handcrafted over weeks to keep the natural look.

Chardonnay is the Signature wine of Louisvale Wine Estate. A Chardonnay lover need to look no further than here. Hans Froehling and Leon Stemmet bought the estate in 1988, and began planning vines a year later. In 1993 Marinus Bredell introduced Red Wines to the already popular selection, and in 1997 Simon Smith took over the wine making process. The estate was bought by 4 friends in 2010, and they still maintain and run the estate till this day.
The Louisvale range includes the Louisvale Chardonnay, Louisvale Chavant, Louisvale Unwooded Chardonnay and Louisvale Dominique, a red blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Shiraz.
The Log Cabin was built in 2001, and through the years had host many occupants, some students, some friends and some visitors. In 2017 The Cabin was completely refurbished by Kobus Groenewald, with the idea and intent to host guests and have events. Being an occupant as a student, Kobus realized this place is too beautiful to be hidden away, and felt the need to share this with others. The idea was born and the rest is history. Having in mind the beautiful setting and surrounding areas, there are a few places with a better setting and view than here, but you will be able to judge for yourself.
And last, but not the least, you can relax at our swimming pool. Just imagine sitting outside, having a drink during one of our lovely summer evenings, and cooling off in the pool, overlooking the vineyards that surrounds you. Sounds like heaven?? Well, almost.
Winter or summer, there are always great things to keep you busy at the cabin. The Log Cabin is a popular base for enthusiastic "wine explorers", which is not hard to believe considering that the cabin's garden also has a few acres of vine producing great wines on Louisvale Wine Estate. A private wine experience can be arrange, where one of the actual employees on the farm who helps make the wines, will visit and sit down with you for an exclusive experience.
There is an outdoor pool, a mobile as well as a large fixed braaing/barbeque facility and also a beautiful indoor fireplace, catering for every kind of activity or vibe you might be longing for.
Feel free to take a walk on the farm and explore the beauty that Louisvale and surrounding farms has to offer. You can even take a walk to Clos Malverne (1.1 km or 10 min walk) or Brenaissance (2.2 km or 20 min walk).
Mountain bikers and bird watchers are also in for a treat, of course.
