Twin Gables Guest House is a family-run business. Your hosts are Dawn, Scott and Travis Petersen. Mamre is historically a Moravian Mission Station, and is well known for its many national monuments. It has a rich history of missionaries that came from Germany to spread the Christian faith. It also served as an outpost for the British Military. Subsequently, many of the surviving buildings have been declared national monuments, including Die Langhuis, Church and the Old Mill.
The Twin Gables Guest House offers you an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Even though it is situated only 50 kms from Cape Town, it provides all the peace and tranquility one would normally associate with the countryside. The balcony provides breathtaking views of unpolluted clear blue skies during the day and evening skies filled with brightly-lit celestial bodies which light up the whole village.
We are in very close proximity to various destinations and places of interests: Industrial town of Atlantis (6kms); Eskom (20kms); Ankerlig (10kms); White Sand Dunes (10kms); Darling (18kms); R27/West Coast Road (12kms); Malmesbury (28kms).
Accommodation at Twin Gables Guest House: We have a beautifully designed 6-bedroom house, with 2 En-suite, 2 Double/twin bedrooms; a Family Suite with two adjacent rooms sleeping max of 6 and a Budget Room ideally suited to travelers that only need very basic accommodation.
Room 1 (Downstairs) This is our Premium Room. Air Conditioned, Spacious room,with an en-suite bathroom and separate toilet. Extra-length queen-size bed, mini-bar fridge; wall-mounted heater, desk, tea/coffee making facilities. Extra sleeper couch for child.
Room 2 (Downstairs) The room has two single beds that can be changed to king-size on request. Extra sleeper couch sleeps extra person. Minibar fridge, a flat screen television with Premium DStv Package, a wall-mounted heater and a portable fan. En-suite bathroom.
Room 3 (Upstairs) Air Conditioned. This room is located upstairs, with two single beds which can combine in a king-size on request. Own private bathroom, with overhead shower. Guests also have access to the communal lounge. 24 hours access to complimentary to Tea/Coffee facilities.
Family Suite (Upstairs) Air Conditioned. Located upstairs, this one Family Suite, consist of two adjacent rooms. This suite can either sleep a family of 2 adults and 3 to 4 children. Or a maximum of 6 adults, each sleeping in a dormitory-style arrangement. Shared bathroom/shower and toilet. Guests also have access to communal lounge with 50" Flat Screen television, Full DSTV Premium Package, Mini Bar-fridge, Balcony with braai facilities.
Budget Room (Upstairs) Ideally suited for budget travelers that only require basic accommodation. Consists of 2 units, upstairs sleeping 2 on two single beds and downstairs sleeping max 2 persons on a double bunk. No Toiletries provided, no television, no Wi-Fi, no access to kitchen. Private bathroom and shared toilet. Guests have access to balcony with braai facilities.

Cancellation Policy:
- Cancellations made within 7 days of date of arrival forfeit the entire deposit. - Cancellations made within 14 days of date of arrival forfeit 50% of the deposit. - Cancellations made within 30 days of date of arrival forfeit 10% of the deposit. - In the event of a premature departure the full extent of the stay, as originally booked and confirmed, will be charged. - Refunds of deposits/prepayments for bookings are at the discretion of Twin Gables Management and are dependent on the ability to re-let the room/s.
Directions:
Route 1- From Cape Town:
R27/West Coast Road. Coming from Cape Town, drive on the N1 direction Paarl. Take the West Coast/TableView/Milnerton off-ramp. Continue past the suburbs of Milnerton, TableView, MelkbosStrand along the R27/West Coast Road. Continue past the Koeberg PowerStation, take the R307(Dassenberg Rd) Atlantis turn-off to your right. Continue for about 14 kms. At the T-junction turn left into the R304. Continue for about 1 km and turn left into the Main Road of Mamre. At the first three-way stop street, turn left, and then right into Henning Huizen Street.
Route 2 -Airport/N7:
From Cape Town International, take the N2 towards Cape Town and exit to left at Exit 14 (N7/M7 Vanguard Drive) and stick to right hand lane. Turn right at the traffic light and continue along this road(Vanguard Drive). This takes you past the suburbs of Bonteheuwel, Epping, Goodwood, and the Grand West Casino on your right.
This road becomes the N7. Drive for about 20mins direction Malmesbury. At the Atlantis/Philadelphia turn off(R304), turn left. Drive approximately 5 km, and turn right into the R304(Old Mamre Weg). Continue for about 10 km into Atlantis. Continue past 2 roundabouts and turn right at the four-way stop. Drive along this R304 for about 6 km, and turn left into the Main Road, Mamre. At the first three-way stop street, turn left, and then right into Henning Huizen Street.
