Directions:

Approaching from the south (East London and Port Elizabeth) Umngazi lies 90kms due east of Umtata (along the R61) on an extensively tarred and scenic route.

Turn right in Umtata towards Port St Johns and then right again about an hour later to Umngazi.

Approaching from the north, (Durban and Pietermaritzburg) the shorter route (R61) is tarred to within 18kms of Port St. Johns (via Bizana, Flagstaff and Lusikisiki). Remember to turn right after crossing the Port St Johns bridge and then left at the Umngazi turn-off 10 to 15 minutes later. Alternatively, travel via Umtata to Port St. Johns, with only 11,5kms of dirt road (as described above).
