Atop the mountain slope in Gariep Dam peering out onto the largest dam in South Africa you will find View Lodge, a 3 star Guesthouse with 5 star service. Ideally situated between Johannesburg and Cape Town a mere 5 km from the N1 in a quiet tranquil neighborhood.
View Lodge is managed by the owner and offer a 24 hour service if you have any enquires or special requests. The premises is secure with a security fence and covered parking is available. We offer tranquil relaxation as you sit on your private balcony enjoying a splendid sunrise or watching as the water turns pink and blue as the sun sets behind you and then the magnificent moon awakes shyly and shimmers on the black water.
View Lodge offers a variety of accommodation and is not only the perfect holiday location but also great for business or one night accommodation. You can choose from family self catering units, semi-self catering units, luxury or standard rooms. On site we also have a swimming pool, licensed bar and a communal braai on an enclosed deck with a view of the dam.
Breakfast can be booked on arrival and is served from 07:00 until 10:00. Dinner can be arranged for larger groups prior to arrival and will be served on the enclosed deck overlooking the dam, but a number of restaurants are available close by.
Gariep Dam also offers a variety of activities that can be arranged for our guests including: Canoe trips down the Orange River, Horse Riding, Quad bikes, Dam wall Tours and boat cruises. A nearby resort offers tennis, putt-putt, volleyball, netball and fishing. Special entry fees can be arranged during peak times.
