Under new management and recently renovated, the Wakkerstroom Hotel is situated on the square in the heart of the village, offering the ideal base from which to explore the village’s many fascinating attractions and the picturesque surrounds of Wakkerstroom.
Wakkerstroom Hotel has 10 comfortable and stylishly decorated en-suite rooms, a cosy bar and a variety of dining areas with a popular restaurant that is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are also meeting facilities, as well as indoor and outdoor play areas for children.

We also have a passion for presentation, so don’t be surprised if your delicious pub meal arrives looking like something out of a fine food restaurant! Meals can be enjoyed outside on the veranda overlooking the scenic town square, on the patio in our secluded garden in view of the children’s outdoor play area, or in either of our indoor dining areas with cosy pub and roaring log fires in winter.

Wakkerstroom is renowned worldwide for its abundance of bird life, with 374 species recorded in the area. Local bird guides are available to show you around the area. The Bird life South Africa Centre is based on the edge of the village towards Volksrust.

The Black Eagle 4x4 Route offers fantastic off road driving with a 30 km track and some of the most spectacular views in Wakkerstroom.
Off Road Biking
The Dirt Maniacs Off Road Bike Club offers regular organised rides, but the locals ride most weekends.
Walking Trails
Wakkerstroom is a safe place and there are many beautiful walks about town and in the surrounding hills.
Mountain biking
Wakkerstroom Country Inn offers guests the use of our mountain bikes to cycle around the town and through the wetlands reserve in a safe and quiet environment.

Wakkerstroom has perfect mountain conditions for paragliding with popular sites such as Ossewakop, Inyoni, Christies and Evelyn from which to fly.

Heyshope, Zaaihoek and Martins Dams all offer fishing opportunities, while fully stocked trout fishing dams are only 15 minutes drive away.

Wakkerstroom Country Inn offers 8 en-suite, comfortable and tastefully decorated bedrooms. All double rooms offer queen-size beds. Tea and coffee facilities are available in each room. There are 2 Family Suites with have additional double sleeper couches and can sleep 2 adults and up to 2 children. There is a guest lounge exclusively for the use of our guests.
Our breakfast includes a light continental buffet, followed by a choice of Full English breakfast.. ‘Early bird’ packed breakfasts can be arranged.
There is secure parking for guests in the hotel grounds.
