Whalesong Lodge offers a large comfortable open plan lounge & dinning room with a large glass folding door leading out to a wooden deck. We spend hours here, enjoying a crisp glass of Sauvignon Blanc, watching the Southern Right Whale play in the bay.
For the cooler months there is a cosy fireplace and a good selection of South African Red Wines. From the wooden deck you can take a refreshing plunge into the pool; but if one prefers to swim in the sea there are a number of small sheltered coves within easy walking distance.
A short drive will take you to a number of sandy beaches. La Bay Chardonnay is only 200m from the lodge. Die Plaat is 20-30 minutes away by foot along the duivelsgat hiking trail. (By car 5 minutes) You will also be able to explore the Klipgate Caves.

With Gansbaai`s fishing harbour only minutes away there is an ample supply of fresh seafood. Breakfast is served from 8 till late!!
Gansbaai is one of the top spots in the world for viewing the Great White Shark either from the boat or for the more daring from a shark cage. There are various shark boat operators, most depart in the morning.
From July till December the magnificent Southern Right Whales migrates to Walker bay to give birth and mate. The De Kelders cliffs are arguably one of the best spots in the world for land based whale watching.
For those wanting to get into the whales milieu there are two Operators that offer boat based whale watching trips, a 2 hour excursions to view the whales up-close.
There are several hiking trails on offer e.g., Duiwelsgat Hiking Trail offers 7 km of day walks along limestone and sandstone cliffs with coastal fynbos and milkwoods.
