Conveniently situated for travellers to Johannesburg. Situated in the historic suburb of Kensington, to the east of Johannesburg, Willy`s Chateau is ideal for both tourist and business travellers. Just off the main highway link to the Oliver Tambo International Airport, the Johannesburg Central Business District, the Sandton and East Rand business districts, it is convenient for travellers going to the Kruger National Park, Durban, or Cape Town by road.
Legere Stube - Our In-House Restaurant and Bar:
A place to eat, drink, relax, and sample the warm hospitality and creative cooking of host and hostess, Willy and Jessica. A wonderful mural will keep your eyes busy, and the great cooking will definitely keep your mouth busy!
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here, on the sunny front terrace, or in the sheltered rear terrace. Every meal is prepared with pride in the knowledge that the finest ingredients have been used to produce dishes for those who enjoy good food in a cosy atmosphere. Willy, hailing originally from East and West Berlin, specialises in delicious German fare.
The Legere Stube is open for Lunch and Dinner, from Monday to Friday or as otherwise arranged. Please notify us in advance if you intend eating with us.
All guests are welcome to make use of the Legere Stube in-house restaurant and bar, where you may choose from an a la carte menu. We serve lunch and dinner, with Gluehwein in winter, or with a sundowner on the terrace in summer.
Specials meals will be prepared on request and a cold platter will be made available in your room by prior arrangement.
Please note that only Continental breakfasts will be served on Sundays and public holidays, except where other arrangements have been made in advance.
Non-residents are also welcome in the Legere Stube!
Accommodation at Willy`s Chateau:
The Chateau offers a range of comfortable, private, en suite rooms, all furnished to the highest standards, to ensure that your stay is a totally enjoyable experience.
The Hamburg Suite is available as a Bed and Breakfast or a self-catering unit.
The latest addition to our house, Berlin is a very comfortable twin-bedded unit. Connected to the Hamburg Suite, the two together would make an ideal family unit.
Lalakahle, under thatch, are Bed and Breakfast units only.
The cottage, Le Chalet, built overlooking the pool area, is a very versatile unit and can be occupied by up to four people. Its two units, Le Chalet Gourmet and Le Chalet Petit, with double interleading doors, will allow you to be together, should you wish. Or it can be converted to completely separate units. Le Chalet Petit is offered separately as a bed and breakfast unit only, while Le Chalet Gourmet is available as a self-catering unit or as a bed and breakfast unit. When combined, they become a very luxurious one-bedroom suite, with two separate bathrooms (each comprising shower, bath and toilet), lounge, and open plan kitchen. As described above, an additional person (or persons) can use the lounge (in the Le Gourmet section) as an extra sleeping space, but without the couch.
All units, whether self-catering or not, have tea/coffee-making facilities, and feature radio, satellite television, telephone and Internet.
Cold platters can be made available in rooms by prior arrangement. Special meals will be prepared on request. Breakfast is available to all Self Catering Unit guests by prior arrangement, and is served in the Legere Stube, or on the terrace.
