Newcastle is the ideal midway stop-over between Johannesburg/Pretoria and Durban. There are 3 golf courses in Newcastle. Many historical sites such as Majuba, Rorkes Drift, Battle of Blood River Memorial, Talana Museum etc are in a radius of 100 km. The magical Drakensberg is a mere 150 kms away. Bird watchers enjoy travelling to Wakkerstoom for this purpose (100 km). Nambiti Big 5 Private Game Reserve is 90 km from Newcastle, on way to Durban.

Lonely Oak Cottage is a free standing self-catering cottage under a massive old Oak tree 1 bedroom (air conditioner) with double bed, en-suite (shower only). It accommodates 3 guests, as there is a single bed in the lounge/living area. A small kitchen and stoep overlooks a huge garden with braai facilities. Undercover parking.
Nguni is a spacious open-plan unit. 2x beds en suite bathroom with shower.
