Wyford Farm is situated in a pretty mountainous area off Van Reenen Pass (N3) and has a rich recorded history being built in the 1870s as a Trading Store on the route between Johannesburg and Durban.
It is now a small working farm with beef cattle, pigs, sheep and horses which visitors may interact with.
We are approximately 40km from either Ladysmith or Harrismith and day trips are possible to Battlefield sites and Northern Berg resorts.
Wyford is a paradise for children allowing them to experience the freedom of wide open spaces and enjoy interacting with farm animals.
We offer comfortable accommodation in 5 unique, separate and private self catering units which each have their own TV with basic programmes and they all have a DSTV dish but guests may bring their own decoder and card. Each cottage has a car port and braai area in the garden and the units are serviced daily. We do provide firewood
Pets can usually be accommodated by prior arrangement.
Amenities include a swimming pool, horse riding, mountain biking bring your own bikes hiking, walking and birding. Pets can normally be accepted by prior arrangement.

Health and Climate:
Summers are usually warm and pleasant and winters are cold at night but each unit has a fireplace and we do supply wood

The Old Trading Store
Has 3 bedrooms; one has a double bed and bathroom en-suite with a bath, one has 2 single beds with an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower and the third has a double bed and a single and is next to a shower bathroom.
Extra beds can be put into the very large living area which has a fire place - wood is provided, lounge suite seating 6, and a large dining table. There is a TV with a DSTV dish but bring own decoder and card for more comprehensive packages. WIFI is connected to this unit.
The well equipped kitchen is separate and the spacious veranda has a stunning view of the mountains. There is a covered and illuminated braai area in the garden
Poplar Cottage
Looks on to a dam and has a fenced garden and is suitable for pets. It has one bedroom with a double bed and en-suite shower bathroom.
There is a second bedroom with twin beds and a second bathroom with bath. Upstairs in the loft there are 4 beds.
The living area is large and incorporates the well equipped kitchen, dining area and lounge with a fireplace - we provide firewood. There is a TV with a DSTV dish but bring your own decoder and card for a more comprehensive package.
There is a covered and illuminated braai area in the garden with a large table and chairs
The Garden Cottage
This is a small cosy unit in an enclosed garden and is suitable for pets. It is a bed sitter type of unit with one double bed and one single bed with a sitting nook at one side with a fireplace (firewood is provided)and a kitchenette at the other side. The bathroom has a bath and a separate shower.
There is a TV with a DSTV dish but bring your own decoder and card for a more comprehensive package. This cottage is connected to WIFI. There is a portable braai on the verandah with table and chairs
Aloe Cottage
Sleeps 5 and has a double bed and a single in a large loft with 2 twin beds in the downstairs bedroom.
There is a shower bathroom and the living area has a fireplace (fire wood is provided) and a well equipped kitchen and there is a large verandah equipped with table and chairs and it has with stunning views of the mountain. The garden is fenced and suitable for pets and has a covered and illuminated braai area.
There is a TV with a DSTV dish with limited programmes but guests may bring their own decoder and card for a more comprehensive package.
Jacaranda Cottage
Sleeps up to 3 and is a bed sitter type of unit with a double bed and a single bed in the same room. The bathroom has a shower and there is a small kitchen at one side and a fireplace at the other side - firewood is provided.
There is a wide verandah with table and chairs and a portable braai and the view looks on to the farm dam. There is a TV with a DSTV dish and guests may bring their own decoder and card for a more comprehensive package.
All bed linen and towels are supplied but please bring own swimming towels. TV is available with SABC stations 1, 2, 3, and E-TV and we have good Cell Phone reception.
Restaurants are situated in the area about 9km away.

Cancellation Policy:
At the time of booking I ask for a 50% deposit to confirm the booking.
If the booking is cancellded the deposit is refundable up until 2 weeks before the arrival date less R50
From 2 weeks till one week before the arrival date 2/3rds of the deposit is refunded
One week before arrival date no refund of deposit
Directions:
Coming from Johannesburg / Harrismith:
On N3 take note of the Kwa-Zulu Natal border sign (Halfway Caltex Garage on left) and continue for 9 km on N3 towards Ladysmith.
The turnoff to Wyford is sign posted on brown boards and is directly opposite the Pyramids Motel (previously Andrews Motel).
Turn left on to farm road (tarred) and immediatly left again then follow signs to Wyford passing one house and stables on the left but continue for 1.8km which will bring you to the main house from where you will be directed to your individual cottage.
Coming from Durban / Ladysmith:
On either the N3 or R103 travel a further 15km from the Tugela Toll Plaza on the N3 and follow the signs to Wyford directly opposite Pyramids Motel (previously Andrews Motel) and continue as directed above.
